Riga is an Australian Kelpie, a medium sized dog. She is very friendly with everyone and very easy to look after. Biscuits twice a day and the occasional bone and she is happy. She can be happily left outside if the weather is good, likes going for walks, but not necessarily every day.
Roquette (Rocky) is a Bengal/Siamese cross who likes human contact, but on her terms. If she wants to sit on your lap it will be her that decides. If the weather is good she will sleep outside somewhere, not sure where! If it's cold or raining though she will stay at home. Again, easy to look after.

For Riga, biscuits twice a day, with treats from time to time.
Rocky has biscuits left out all the time, and will let you know when the level is a bit low!

Our house is a farmhouse built in local stone that was converted in 2004 by adding rooms in what was the hay loft, adding windows, insulating etc, so relatively modern. There are 3 bedrooms, one of which has independent access and it's own shower room and toilet. This room we let as bed and breakfast April to November and would probably be the best for house sitters.
There is a heat pump for radiators throughout, plus 2 wood burning stoves. There is French and English television available, plus high speed fibre internet.

Tourismus und Freizeit

We are in the countryside, so very peaceful, but do have neighbours close by. Chatellerault, a medium size town, is 15 minutes away by car, and most shopping needs are available here, supermarkets, cinema, swimming pool, etc. The city of Poitiers is about 40 minutes drive and has more of everything as you would expect. There are train stations at both towns.
In the villages around there a some small supermarkets, and open markets. Opening time are all available on the internet.
