The cats - Madison (3yrs) and Bailey (6yrs) are low maintenance. Can be a bit talkative at times and when they get to know you like to be in the same space as you but generally keep their distance. They don't mind being patted and love being entertained but are equally capable of playing by themselves. They don't like being picked up but are resigned to the fact that it sometimes happens! They are indoor cats only, so need their litter box cleaned and of course fed twice a day but will be fine if you go away over night or leave them during the day.

I have a 2 bedroom apartment (1 room is a study). It's on the 1st floor (there is a lift) of a 4 storey building. The apartment has a security/watchman although only speaks Hindi/Tamil); however there is also an apartment secretary if you need assistance (and I will also put you in touch with a couple of my friends who can assist if needed). The apartment contains everything you need - washing machine, fully equipped kitchen etc. It does not require a lot of maintenance; however, with the cats I would recommend sweeping if not daily then every second day.

The apartment is a 10 minute walk down to the beach. It is just off the main road, so all amenities/daily groceries can be easily accessed by walking. Adyar is a fairly central place in Chennai and it is easy to access transport (I would recommend you download the Ola/Uber app - sorry I don't have a car) to visit places.

Some of the things to do around Chennai include: visiting the beaches and surf schools, museums, and temples. From Chennai you can also do day/overnight trips to Mahabilipuram and Pondicherry.
