Lilongwe

Two lovely Weimaraners. They are Kongo (12 years old, so slowing down), and Mwanza (10 years slowing down a bit). They are a couple and love the bits out of each other. They need one, 40 minute interactive walkies in the morning before 10a, an afternoon interaction at the house (treat searching, play, lick pads, etc.) and an hour evening (sunset - we have amazing sunsets on the dambo) walk at around 16h30/17h. The security, exercise and love of the dogs is my priority!

We live on a property that has a restaurant and bar. We have a gym and groceries, pharmacy, bottles within walking distance. It is very calm. I do not have a car to offer you but cars can be hired for any weekend trips you may want to take. The local community and lodge owners are VERY supportive and can offer rides to the larger mall for a fee of petrol. I have local friends who can stay with the dogs for the obligatory trips to visit the amazing national parks in the region. House photos are incoming as I will shortly be moving from a studio house to a 2 bedroom house.

Kongo and Mwanza eat 2 times per day (with supplements) and should not be left alone for more than 6 hours (8 on occasion). I am looking for someone who wants to comfort and cuddle the dogs, talk to them and generally be present for their needs. They are very intelligent and so very sensitive to human moods and affection.

Their walks are more swimming and standing and throwing a toy for Mwanza as Kongo can't go on long walks but still needs to move and be stimulated. There is a dambo (marshes or fields depending on the season) just off the Barefoot garden to walk and play with them (on lead on main foot paths and off lead in the fields...as long as you are far enough from the grazing goats and cows). It is a calm, low need, low resource existence with community support as they know and love the dogs and are invested in their well being.

Kongo is older and has a bit of difficulty with his back legs from time to time. He has anti inflammatory medication to take about every 6 weeks on rest. If ever vet care is needed, they can come to the house. The vets are in contact with me while i am on mission and the friends around can help you assess any needs that may arise.

There are options for time off with local friends who can take care during your exploration of the region. But this is not to be taken advantage of: it is still a care sit. :)

Small, two bedroom house on Barefoot Lodge and Safari properties (neighborhood NRC). Fenced in garden within a much larger garden. Hot water, fridge and freezer, fan, outside seating. Private with access to bar/resto/staff of the Lodge property. Laundry lines. BBQ. Sheets and towels provided and changed weekly. Gardener weekly.

Lake Malawi. National Parks around via car (no dogs allowed inside parks). Basic groceries, butcher, bar, pharmacy, bottles available in walking distance. Car & driver hire available on site (own expense). Gym in walking distance. Exchange rate at double XE via bank transfer to lodge owners.
