Bedürfnisse und Tiere

Tiere mit besonderen Bedürfnissen | Poolpflege | 1 Hund | 2 Katzen | 1 Anderes Tier

We have a male Laponian Herder, 8 years old, he needs to be walked twice a day for about an hour (mornings and evenings, when it's not too hot). There's also a small turtle and two cats: these animals roam freely in the garden, just need to be fed and don't cause much work.
But: please don't apply if you have small children. The dog has not grown up with children and while he's generally people-friendly, you never know how a small child behaves, and the dog in return.

It's actually quite flexible, the core period where we absolutely need a housesitter is August 6 to 14, and then again August 27 to August 31st, but I'd be happy if someone wants to come anytime in August, because it would give us a bit more flexibility in travelling ourselves.

Haus

A traditional large Spanish chalet (5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms) with a nice garden with swimming pool and fountain (taken care of by a gardener and pool boy). Less than 10 minutes walk to the metro line 2 that takes you to Valencia city center in half an hour. Extremely quiet neighbourhood. High-speed fiber internet connection and satellite TV make sure it won't get boring.

We have one bike available for excursions into the orange tree plantations. They start less than 500m from the house,

It's so quiet here, you wouldn't believe it. Barely ever a car driving by. Yet, within less than an hour (20 mins with a car) you can enjoy all the excitement of Spains third largest city. Plus its kilometers of sand beaches.

Valencia is a city you just have to see. Most people have been to Barcelona and know a lot about it, but Valencia is Spain's hidden gem. Whether it's strolling through the historical city center (Valencia used to be a separate kingdom) or the amazing modern architecture of the City of Science and Culture by Calatrava (google it!), enjoying modern cuisine or local wines in the many restaurants and bars, or whether it's birdwatching in the freshwater lagoon reserve of the Albufera or experiencing the underwater world of Europe's largest oceanarium, Valencia has a lot to offer for visitors!

Wolfgang and his wife Agatha are really friendly and welcoming people. The description of the house and the animals matched perfectly. It's also a really safe neighbourhood. The animals are well raised and taken care of.

We really enjoyed our time that we spent with Wolfgang and his wife Agata. They were two of the most generous, kind, and interesting people we have ever known. The outdoors set-up (including an amazing pool) is such an amazing place to hang out and have a good time. Unfortunately we came during the most intense heat wave in the last 15 years, so that did make it a little challenging. But overall the spot, proximity to metro, etc. is fabulous - especially if you like a calm, quiet place to stay away from the city. There are 4 animals to take care of (1 dog, 2 cats, 1 turtle), but certainly the most time-consuming is the morning an evening walk with Pascal. I really came to like these walks strolling through the peaceful Valencian countryside. I would just recommend that you're sure you can handle a strong dog! Pascal likes to make his presence known to other dogs around him, and it's important to pay attention and keep him in check. Overall, I'm so impressed with the family and set-up. A true retreat!
