We have 2 dogs and 9 cats, all mixed breed rescues. One dog is very and sweet natured but suffers from allergies so needs some extra care (regular baths). The second one is older, reserved but well-mannered.
Cats are quite spoiled and have the run of the house.

Haus

Classic (built in the 1920s) and comfortable tropical-style bungalow with large fenced yard. Large and airy porch with small bbq. 3 airconditioned bedrooms, 2 with own (recently renovated) bath. Very centrally situated in the suburbs of Oranjestad, close to shopping district, walking distance (5 minutes) to beach, supermarkets and public transport.

Use of our (old) pickup truck can be arranged.

The house is quiet with a relaxed vibe. Garden has large trees and a tiled area that's nice for relaxing. There's a small bbq on the porch.
We have twice-weekly cleaning service, can arrange for more often visits if needed.

Contact with Ilona and Herry was easily and cheerfully established, they welcomed us with a big smile: we immediately felt comfortable and at home. We received the completed home book before our departure, it was full of explanations about the house, the animals, the surroundings including the curiosities of the island. They had prepared our stay: we had storage space available, their car, a twice-weekly cleaning service, a tourist map, etc. Nothing was missing from our welcome. In our opinion, there are no nicer animals than Pixel and Rover, both very endearing. It was a pleasure to take care of the cats, some of whom were real glue pots. We had a very pleasant stay in their well-appointed house, close to all amenities in a quiet area of Oranjestad. In short, a pleasant stay close to magnificent beaches. Thank you to them for their trust and kindness.

Henry and Ilona have a wonderful menagerie of dogs and cats. Clearly they love their rescue pets--and we loved them, too. It was so fun to feed everyone all at once, and watch how the animals shared the food and gave each other space to eat. Beautiful animals!

Our journey in Aruba was fantastic. Ilona et Herry were very welcoming and made us feel at home immediately. We really enjoyed their company and the interesting conversations we shared together. They gave us lots of information about Aruba and also restaurants to go to. They lent us their car so that we could travel all around the island and went to all the interesting places we wanted to see in Aruba. The houseis comfortable and is within walking distance of the beach and a supermarket. The pets were very easy to care for and we spent lovely time taking care of them.We stayed in communication with Ilona and Herry during their trip using social media. There was also their housekeeper coming regularly to keep everything tidy in the house. Everything was perfect and easy, we enjoyed a very relaxing time. Aruba is really one happy island to discover !
