I live in a 40m2 ground floor apartment just outside the old city centre of Leiden (walking distance). I'm looking for someone to take care of my cat and to live in my home while I'll be traveling.
My home is by no means fancy, but comfortable enough: living room, 1 bedroom with a small double bed, bathroom with shower and toilet, kitchen with dish washer. The place is perfectly alright for one person, two is a bit much which I'd rather not have.
I have a big TV in my living room, but no signal so you'll have to make do with the internet/DVDs to actually view something on the screen. There is unlimited wifi available.
I have a garden as well, but as I don't garden that's a mess and you may well ignore. It does get some sunshine in the summer though, so sitting outside is possible if you don't mind the mess. ;)
as of this summer parking is no longer free, but public transport (bus stop, every 15 minutes) is around the corner. From my city it's just 30 minutes by train to Amsterdam, 15 to the airport, 30 to Rotterdam and 40 to Utrecht. In addition you're just …

I live at a 5-10 minute walk from the old city center, where you'll find shops, supermarkets, cinemas, farmers markets, canals and basically anything you might need.

Tourismus und Freizeit
The town of Leiden itself is quite interesting: home to the country's oldest university, birthplace of Rembrandt, the largest number of canals after Amsterdam and generally a very cosy, authentic feel while still being quite lively due to the students around (no worries though, I live in a quiet area where you won't be bothered by students at all). There are quite a few interesting museums, as well as nice shops, bars and restaurants.
When venturing outside of the city, you'll find the countries bigger cities at 15-45 minutes distances: Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht. Also the beach is just half an hour away.
