Madrid

We would love someone that loves dogs and would commit to walking, feeding, playing and loving our dog, Nutella. Someone respectful, honest and reliable. An active person, non smoker, drug free and responsable with alcohol.
Nutella is a mixed medium size dog. She loves all people. Very friendly and trusting. She's very quiet but may bark if suspicious about something usually some noise. She doesn't love small dogs as much or large dogs for that matter. She's never hurt anyone or anything in the 9 years we've had her. She has a high hunting instinct. There are lots of bunnies in the area that she has a hard time ignoring and will chase. So she must never be off leash. We almost lost her twice. She's playful when in a playful mood and relaxed and quiet the rest of time. Extremely smart. You only have to ask once and she gets it.
She is a rescue from Atlanta, so any scolding loud words towards her are terrifying and she will tremble and go hide. She must never be yelled at or hit, ever! It's very traumatizing to her.
By the way, she only understands English.
If she does something disliked all you have to do is tell her "No, don't do this". She has the understanding of a 3 year old more or less. She is allowed on her blanket on the couch and bed but fairly often told to stay on her bed and she obeys.
She may get on the bed and couch when no one is around. She's not perfect. But will stop if asked.
She's walked early in the morning around 8am but will wait until you're ready if your having a lazy morning. Also walked in the evenings after dinner.
She'll steal your heart. She's a happy, loving, super intelligent furry friend. Super easy going and a great companion.

Our dates can be flexible by a few days. We’d like house sitters to arrive at least one day before our departure so to go over instructions, get to know our dog, Nutella, explore the neighborhood and get acquainted with.

Our apartment or "Piso" is located north of Madrid Center, about 25 mins by car. It's within an enclosed community with concierge service, "Conserjes". The neighborhood is quiet with plenty of pretty green spaces to walk/run, bike or skate. Within 5 minutes there's an amazing huge park Valdebebas to go bike, hike or run/walk.

The piso is a three bedroom, 2 bathrooms with a separate office room and 2 patios or very nice "Terrazas". The patios are very pleasant with greenery, seating and a grill. We enjoy seating outside with our morning coffee/tea.
One of the bedrooms is a designated guest bedroom, as shown in the pictures. It has a convertable double bed, night stand with lamp and its own closet space, window and patio access.
There are two full bathrooms. The guest bathroom includes a comfortable tub for those that enjoy a long relaxing bath.
There's a kitchen seating area, living and dinning room, foyer, and outdoor seating with grill.
There's a large TV in the living room with plenty of viewing options/channels.
There’s lots of natural light with ceiling to floor double glass doors in every room. Every window has an automatic iron curtain that can be dropped down to make it night time any time of day. You can sleep all day and not even know it!
We have the fastest internet speed available in the market.
This is an enclosed community with pool, padel courts and concierge service.

We find our area to be an excellent location. It is easy to hop on the hwy and go anywhere.
It's within 10 minutes to shopping stores and also a small mall. We love to be within driving distance to the city and not live in the city. We enjoy our quiet neighborhood.
Depending on your destination it can take 15-25 mins to drive into town. A cab can be around 25€ and up. Depending on where you go.
Also nearby there are lots of short day trips to enjoy like Toledo, Salamanca, Avila, Pedraza, el Escorial and others. In madrid there are wonderful museums, Prado being the best.
Lots of terrazas and cafés, great shopping boutiques and lots of tourist attractions.
El Retiro is Madrid's central park and its grand in every way with a beautiful lake. A must visit!
We drive everywhere but there's a bus stop within a 5 min walk.
Driving to some areas is a challenge but we tend to drive and park in a convenient spot and walk. If we walked too far out from the car we get a cab to our car, for around 10€.

Madrid is a beautiful city with lots to see and do.
It feels like an European NYC with its lovely arquitecture, many high end restaurants and shops. Retiro Park is its central park and its fantastic! Its a very clean city with lots of theater and art shows. Too much to do!
There are also many fun day trip options from Madrid to cities like Toledo, Segovia, Salamanca and Avila. Also, for the golf lovers there are many options, with the closest golf course 3 minutes away.
