We’re both retired, we’ve been a couple for 15 years, and just celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary! Carol retired from government service in California, and James was in sales in Hawaii his whole life, though he was born in Los Angeles. We both became amateur beekeepers together, and also enjoy gardening, animals, reading, film, arts, yoga, Pilates, exercise and travel. We sing in two different community choruses and love attending community theater! Hawaii can be as exciting or relaxing as we ever want!

This pet sitting experience was truly unique, as we felt more like locals than visitors. We were warmly welcomed by Carol and James who made us feel right at home and gave us a great introduction to the island! While they were away, we spent most of our time at the house, as the dogs needed to go out every 2 hours and prefer not to be left alone, but all of Carol’s animals are very sweet and easy to bond with. Carol’s home is in a peaceful neighborhood close to the coast where we enjoyed taking walks and taking in the beautiful scenery. Carol is one of the kindest people we have ever met and generously hosted us before and after their trip so that we could explore more of the island, and even allowed us to use their car to get around. This was our first trip to Hawaii and we are grateful to Carol to have had this experience!

Carol and James were very welcoming hosts and made all the house amenities available to us. They provided information about the area such as places to visit and concerts to attend. The animals were very easy to look after and we enjoyed the time we spent with them.
