A big thanks to our kind and generous hosts, Sylvie and Robert, for our lovely stay in the charming town of Champ-sur-Drac! We received the warmest welcome with cherries from their tree and a delicious authentic meal of Crozet à la Savoyarde with fresh salad from their garden, homemade bread, and marmalade—all of which made us feel right at home. We were also treated to a wonderful excursion to the Napoleon Equestrian Statue at Grand Lac de Laffrey and spent a very pleasant day together before their departure. We had such a great time and found we have a lot in common—of course, our love of animals, the great outdoors, and our sense of humor :) Sylvie and Robert’s lovely home garden boasts a stream running right beside their home, and colorful koi swimming in the adjacent pond, making it a magical place to enjoy meals outside. Our morning walks along the Drac with gentle and loyal companions, Leon and Lulu, were a great pleasure—easy and straightforward, as was that of kitty-cat Valentine, who is quite independent. Sylvie also provided clear and accessible local contacts, and our communication with her during their trip was simple and fluid. We never ran out of things to do, since there’s a lovely lake with outdoor fitness equipment just down the street, cycling to nearby sites, and all the great things the region has to offer!
