Hi there,
We are an experienced, kind and reliable animal-loving family of three who house sit and travel the world. We currently live in Sintra, Portugal. We moved here five years ago from the Seattle area. We love to travel. However, our lives would not be complete without our animals. Hence, we use house sitters ourselves while we are away and thus have experience on both sides of the housesitting arrangement. It's a wonderful opportunity for both home owners and house sitters. We have a lot of experience and I (Hollin) have written a couple articles on our popular travel site Milesgeek about the joys of house sitting (you can go to the site and type in 'house sitting' to view it). Our 16 year old son does his high school classes remotely and my husband works from home, so we are very flexible with our time and available for your pets and will give them the love they deserve and need. We are also open to exchanging homes if you are interested in coming to Portugal and sharing our house with our two lovely dogs!

Why we want to house sit-
We like to house sit because we love the feeling of being home in a new place. Animals add so much enjoyment to our lives that is an added bonus to have them when we are abroad. Our son especially loves sits involving cats as my mother in law is allergic, so we cannot have any cats of our own. As a side hobby, we have a travel site called Milesgeek, and we like to take the opportunity while house sitting to write about local restaurants and activities. Being in a new place in a home environment gives one the opportunity to feel more like part of the community. Whether it's a BBQ or sharing a glass of wine with the neighbors, or getting 'insider' info into the best places to see from the home owners themselves, we've found house sitting to be very rewarding. And, because we leave our own pets in the hands of house sitters while we are traveling, we know first hand the value of having someone you can trust to keep your animals happy and in the routine they are used to. It's a marvelous situation for all parties- the pets, the home owners and the house sitters!

Our experience-
We have been lucky to have had some seriously wonderful animals to watch on our travels. We have watched dogs --both old and sick, and young and energetic. We have been with sweet kitties, some outdoor and shy, others who sleep in bed with us. We have also watched, fish, parrots, chickens and guinea pigs. I was raised on a wildlife area in C
