Samir

Hello! We are Samir and Oksana, a couple from Ukraine. We work remotely and travel the world. Samir is a data analyst, and Oksana is a Product designer. We love animals and always end up finding strays to feed and care for everywhere we go. We’ve been living as digital nomads since leaving Ukraine. Our parents begged us not to take away our cat, Draco, and dog, Cooper, so we left the pets in their care (and now they’re being completely spoiled). We have always lived with pets, and their absence makes our home feel very empty. Caring for pets while we travel feels like a perfect solution to this problem, as it lets us enjoy furry company before we finally settle down with pets of our own. Having grown up surrounded by pets and pet lovers, we naturally know how to take good care of them. We have experience with both cats and dogs of all kinds, from energetic young pets to older ones that require special diets, medication, and extra attention

Here’s a list of pets we’ve cared for, along with their specific needs:
- Marta is a 15-year-old female cat who has been part of the family since she was rescued as a kitten. She required treatment for ear mites when she was a kitten, including daily ear cleaning. She has long fur and needs frequent brushing and weekly claw trimming. Marta lives with another cat and has kidney issues, so she has to take medication and be fed separately. In the past, we also gave her shots as prescribed by vets.
- Draco is a 5-year-old male cat, also rescued as a kitten. He requires minimal care aside from regular claw trimming.
- Cooper is a 5-year-old midsize (10 kg) male dog. He was adopted from a shelter at the age of 2. His claws are maintained by a groomer. He is easily scared, so walking him requires avoiding busy and loud streets.
- Zhuzha is a 3-year-old female cat rescued from the streets. We treated her for fleas and ear mites before helping her find a permanent home.
- Whiskey is a 2-year-old male Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever belonging to a friend. We cared for him during her vacation. He requires long walks (at least 1.5 hours in both the morning and evening), regular training sessions, and separate feeding as he lives with a cat.
- Gin is a 7-year-old male cat owned by the same friend, so we were looking after him as well.
- Marlick is an 8-year-old male dog belonging to a family member. We’ve cared for him regularly over the years. He has a special diet that has to be prepared according to a specific recipe.
- Fate is a 2-year-old male dog, around 30 kg, belonging to a friend. His only special requirement was being petted specifically on his back several times a day.
- Vesta is a a 4-year-old female dog, around 15 kg, belonging to the same friend. Along with Fate she also demanded many pets, though she wasn't as particular about where she was petted.
