Hi there,
My name is Dan.
I am a 36-year-old Canadian freelance writer and editor currently living in Edinburgh, Scotland. As traveling is a hobby of mine, I have been interested in the concept of house-sitting for years, but my previous career didn't afford me the time. Thankfully, that has all changed, and I am constantly on the lookout for new adventures.
I have been traveling solo since the age of 16, so I am no stranger to being on my own for extended periods of time. I grew up with animals, all types of animals, from dogs and cats to lizards and bats (yes, I actually had a brief stint where I looked after an injured bat). In my late teenage years, I worked as a landscaper and still garden to this day as a hobby — if you have a garden, all the better!
My ideal day would be getting up early, caring for the animals, writing during the day, and relaxing outside with a bottle of wine in the evening — with the animals, of course.
So, If you are looking for a trustworthy, tidy, caring, and reliable house sitter, then I am your man.

Dan & Monika were great pet sitters and looked after our lodge well. Our dogs Islay & Dana were well looked after and Uisge the parrot became a great pal entertaining them during their stay. They left the lodge in perfect condition and would be welcome back anytime. We would definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a contentious couple to look after their home and pet family.
Dan et Monika sont des personnes très sympathiques et respectueuses des lieux. Mon chat Hippolyte s'est très vite senti en confiance, et semble avoir été particulièrement chouchouté ! J'ai retrouvé mon appartement dans un état impeccable. Je les recommande vivement, et espère les revoir un jour.
