My name is Dan.
I am a 36-year-old Canadian freelance writer and editor currently living in Edinburgh, Scotland. As traveling is a hobby of mine, I have been interested in the concept of house-sitting for years, but my previous career didn't afford me the time. Thankfully, that has all changed, and I am constantly on the lookout for new adventures.
I have been traveling solo since the age of 16, so I am no stranger to being on my own for extended periods of time. I grew up with animals, all types of animals, from dogs and cats to lizards and bats (yes, I actually had a brief stint where I looked after an injured bat). In my late teenage years, I worked as a landscaper and still garden to this day as a hobby — if you have a garden, all the better!
My ideal day would be getting up early, caring for the animals, writing during the day, and relaxing outside with a bottle of wine in the evening — with the animals, of course.
So, If you are looking for a trustworthy, tidy, caring, and reliable house sitter, then I am your man.

We had real peace of mind leaving our dog with Dan and Catriona. She bonded with them immediately and they took real care to meet her specific needs. Dan is a great communicator & kept in touch with photographs. We returned to a happy , well exercised and loved dog and a clean, tidy house ! We have no hesitation in recommending Dan in the future. He and Catriona are so easy to get on with and were very respectful of our home as well as trustworthy pet sitters.

Dan stayed few days at my place for Easter and took care of my cat and it was. above my expectations ! Dan sent me daily videos of my cat and i was happy so see her relaxed. I found my flat as clean as i left it. Thanks a lot Dan for these few days. You would be always welcome here !
