Hi there,
My name is Dan.
I am a 36-year-old Canadian freelance writer and editor currently living in Edinburgh, Scotland. As traveling is a hobby of mine, I have been interested in the concept of house-sitting for years, but my previous career didn't afford me the time. Thankfully, that has all changed, and I am constantly on the lookout for new adventures.
I have been traveling solo since the age of 16, so I am no stranger to being on my own for extended periods of time. I grew up with animals, all types of animals, from dogs and cats to lizards and bats (yes, I actually had a brief stint where I looked after an injured bat). In my late teenage years, I worked as a landscaper and still garden to this day as a hobby — if you have a garden, all the better!
My ideal day would be getting up early, caring for the animals, writing during the day, and relaxing outside with a bottle of wine in the evening — with the animals, of course.
So, If you are looking for a trustworthy, tidy, caring, and reliable house sitter, then I am your man.

Dan was amazing from start to finish. He’s very sociable and kind, adapts easily, and really invests himself during his stay. Communication was always smooth, he took perfect care of Mia, our cat, and kept us updated. When we came back, the apartment was very clean, the cat was in perfect health and relaxed, and the plants had survived. I warmly recommend Dan - thank you for everything :)

Dan and Monika were ideal housesitters! They truly respected our property and cared for it as if it were their own home. Dan communicated frequently and asked questions as necessary. When we arrived home, the house was clean and tidy. Indoor and outdoor plants were quite happy. My husband and I recommend Dan (and Monika) to care for your home without reservation or any hesitation. They are conscientious, energetic, mature, and trustworthy.

Dan est un super gardien de maison! Il était soucieux de bien connaitre les besoins des animaux et il n'hésitait pas à me poser des questions. Mes animaux était heureux avec lui.
