We're a couple in our 50s with 2 adult children and one cat. I spent 30 years working in education and non- profit organizations and am now retired. My spouse works in IT. We have had cats for the past 30 years and understand how important it is to have good care for both pets and house while traveling. We love all kinds of wildlife and are avid scuba divers. We love exploring different cultures and we believe in leaving a place better than you found it. We love the idea of living in a new place instead of just being tourists. We will definitely explore the area you live in, but no more than a few hours any day, so we will spend plenty of time at your home keeping your animals company.
I have cared for kittens and senior cats, and administered medications and IV fluids. Our cats have always slept with us, so if your pet is used to sleeping with you, we are comfortable with that. Our cats have also been indoor cats so if your cat stays indoors we will be sure they do not escape! With our own cats we have had ones who are picky about their litter box or food, ones who have sensitive stomachs, ones who love to cuddle and ones who are more shy. I work hard to observe an animal's behavior to understand what it wants. For example if a cat starts twitching its tail, it usually does not want to be petted anymore.
We are happy to set up a video call so that you can meet us before making a decision. I can also put you in contact with people whose pets we have cared for since we are new to Nomador and do not have references here yet.
