Update: My partner Richard has just returned to Australia and I am now looking for pet-sitting opportunities on my own while I stay in Europe (working in Brussels) until August 2026.
We’re a couple from Melbourne, Australia, in our 30s, taking a year off work to travel throughout Europe. Back home we both work as civil servants and share our home with our much-loved cat, Luna, who is happily being cared for by family while we’re away.
Before Luna joined us four years ago we regularly house-sat for work colleagues and friends and have experience taking care of dogs, cats and house plants. We loved the experience, and it gave us a strong appreciation for the different personalities and needs of pets — especially cats. For us, house-sitting is the perfect way to combine our love for animals and desire to experience living like locals when we travel. We understand how much your pet/s mean to you and are grateful for the opportunity to take care of them.

Melissa and Richard stay at my place 2 weeks. They were absolutely amazing - took a really good care of the house and my cat. They went above and beyond to take care of him, bought him toys and cuddled with him. They were also very nice, respectful and easy to communicate with. I definitely recommend them !
