We are a couple who have spent our working lives in Education. We have lived and worked in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Germany. During that time, we have had experience with house swaps and house sitting that involved pet care in Australia and in Europe. Most recently, we cared for Billy the black labrador near Brighton, UK while the owners of the home were on holiday.
We lived in Frankfurt, Germany from 2007 - 17 and often spent our summers in southern Europe. Those arrangements were AirBnB or similar but we cared for the homes we visited as if they were our own.
At home, we have a golden labrador (Billy) and a cat (Fergus). We also operate an AirBnb from our home occasionally. Our home can be viewed on the AirBnb and Trusted Housesitters websites. We are keen gardeners and we have renovated several homes over the course of time so home care and small maintenance matters are no problem.
We are currently based in Wellington, New Zealand. However, as a result of our time in Germany, our adult children all live in Europe now so we are regular visitors.

We don't yet have any references from Nomador yet but I have attached our most recent review from the Trustedhousitters website which we used for a UK stay last Christmas.

"From our very first contact back in July 2022 until our sit over Christmas, Peter and Helen have been just fabulous. We clicked with them straightaway over Zoom from NZ and felt that they would be a really good match for our boy. Christmas is a tricky time to be away from home and we wanted to make sure we had the right people caring for our home and our boy. Peter and Helen were definitely those people. They were really good at communicating with us, and we felt that they were organised, calm and kind. We met them the day before the sit, once they arrived in the UK and we warmed to them immediately. They seemed to engage with our dog immediately and any concerns I had about him they took on board straightaway. This meant that I could leave home and not worry about Billy at all. We had lots of updates on Billy whilst we were away with photos of him enjoying walks and being pampered generally, which was really reassuring.
We returned home to a spotless house and a very happy dog. Not really anything more we could ask for. Helen also managed to breathe life into my very sad looking houseplants!
I can highly recommend Helen and Peter as kind, calm, reassuring, careful and tidy hosts. They looked after our home and most importantly our boy Billy really well, which meant we had a stress free, wonderful holiday. Thanks Peter and Helen and family - we hope our paths cross again someday!"
