Hello, I’m Dana, and we are a family house and pet sitting team

I’ve spent much of my life caring for animals and homes. For many years I was the owner of rescue horses, which probably says a lot about me 🙂 Horses require patience, consistency, and daily responsibility, regardless of weather or circumstances. Alongside that, I’ve cared for dogs and cats and managed rental properties as an owner, including gardens and everyday home maintenance, as well as the occasional more demanding homeowner situations.

I travel with my partner Stephan and my 9-year-old daughter, who is currently enjoying a year of worldschooling. Our lifestyle is calm, structured, and very home-centred. No parties, no disruption, just a steady routine. My daughter is naturally gentle and respectful with animals and genuinely loves spending time with them. She often becomes the quiet companion pets quickly bond with. Along the way, she has also gained surprising experience with pet care, including helping us navigate a few medical and rescue situations during our travels.

As a team, we are non-smokers, non-drinkers, and deeply respectful of other people’s spaces. We genuinely enjoy looking after a home. Watering plants, tending gardens, keeping things tidy, and handling small practical tasks all feel very natural to us. We are hands-on by nature and oddly enjoy things like assembling furniture or fixing things when needed.

So far, we have completed six house sits through another platform, as well as two arranged directly with homeowners. Our approach is simple and consistent. We prefer to arrive early to avoid logistical surprises, align clearly on routines and expectations, provide regular updates, and send photos. We treat each sit with a professional mindset rather than as guests.

Our combined DIY, practical, and calm problem-solving skills have proven useful more than once. Past house sits have included situations such as a burst water pipe, electrical malfunctions, storm-related property issues, and pet medical needs requiring vet visits and aftercare. We are comfortable staying calm and handling unexpected situations responsibly.

Our house sits so far have included: Australia, Czech Republic, Dubai, Germany, Singapore, Switzerland.

Originally from the Czech Republic, we have lived and travelled internationally for many years. I work remotely in the area of finance, which allows us to be present, flexible, and attentive during house sits. My partner Stephan is a management consultant formerly with a Top Tier consultancy, now freelance with a combination of remote work and onsite work (he may be traveling part of the time of the housesit, depending on the month. We know this well in advance.)

For us, house sitting is a very natural way to travel. We understand how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your home and animals with someone. Our aim is always straightforward: to care for both in a way that feels steady, reliable, and worry-free. We also hope to give you a nice feeling of sharing your home and experience of your town with a super nice small family :)
