I have one cat at home and I take care of a few cats in a colony near to where I live. I would need the sitter to go outside to feed the street cats whilst I am away.

NOTE: I am not always able to respond to all applicants. I have a busy job and at times, quite a few applicants. I apologise in advance if you do not hear back from me. I appreciate all requests to sit.

NOTE: I am English and fluent only in English and Spanish. I do not speak French, although I understand a little. Comfortable communication is important to me, so please only apply if you speak a reasonable level of English or Spanish.

House

This stayover is most suited to an individual or a couple. I live in a 2 floored duplex which is within a block of apartments. The duplex is in the popular holiday town of Sitges around a 35 minute drive/train ride to Barcelona city. I have a bright and comfortable home with a small garden at the rear and wifi. I live around a 10 minute walk to the town and the train station. The beach is about a 15 to 20 minute walk. There are local supermarkets within 5 to 10 minutes walking and a pool and gym around a 2 minute walk away. Everything is within walking distance.

Note:

For hotter months: The house only has aircon in my bedroom but I have fans.

The bedrooms are upstairs and I do not think for this reason it would be suitable for people with mobility issues.

Tourism and Leisure

Sitges is a very popular place to visit. It is viewed as an exclusive pretty town commuter distance from Barcelona. It is known for being a cultural town, with lots of shops and restaurants, beaches, art and some museums and it has a lot of fiestas throughout the year. There is always things to do here and the weather is sunny most of the year around. It is close to all of the life in Barcelona too.

J’ai passé un séjour magnifique lors de ce homesitting chez Denise à Sitges ! Denise est une personne d’une grande gentillesse, je me suis sentie très bien accueillie, elle m’a aidé pour l’organisation de mon arrivée en m’indiquant par exemple les trains et gares que je pouvais prendre pour aller à Sitges depuis Barcelone. Je suis arrivée la veille de son départ et elle a pris le temps de me présenter les chats (son chat Jack ainsi que les chats qui vivent dans la rue et dont elle s’occupe), de m’expliquer tout ce qu’il fallait concernant les chats et la maison, ce que j’ai beaucoup apprécié car ainsi les instructions étaient claires et tout était simple à gérer pendant mon séjour. Denise avait également préparé un excellent dîner végétarien dont il faudra que je lui demande la recette ! La maison de Denise est lumineuse, très joliment décorée, c’est un vrai havre de paix, à 5-10mn à pied du centre ville. Jack est un chat adorable, gentil et sociable, qui aime avoir une présence et aussi sortir dans le jardin ou dehors dès qu’il fait beau. Les chats qui vivent dans la rue dont je me suis occupée sont également adorables, timides ils ne se laissent pas trop approcher, mais c’était simple de les nourrir et j’ai beaucoup aimé m’occuper d’eux et pouvoir contribuer à les aider un peu pendant ce séjour. Et Sitges est une ville magnifique et magique ! Je reviendrai avec plaisir et recommande a 100% ce homesitting !

We had an excellent stay at Denise's very comfortable condo. We were well informed about her cats and she left detailed instructions about their daily care and feeding. She is a very compassionate lover of cats and donates her time and money in caring for several feral cats. Sitges is a wonderful town to discover with beautiful beaches and the streets are very walkable and safe. She provided us with some local recommendations for shops and fresh food.
