Needs and animals

Vegetable patch | 2 Cats

We have two sweet 3 y.o. cats. One is a bit shy with new people, and can get stressed with loud noises though she doesn't need anything special, just a calm person to give her some time to warm up.
I would like there to be someone there with them each night to give them their wet food, refresh their water and stay the night, though they don't need much of anything during the day. In the morning, we refill their dry food. The litter box is normally cleaned 1 - 2x a day (morning/evening).
We have a small amount of plants that need to be watered. We also have a garden plot in a community garden in Stenhagen that may need watering every few days if there is no rain.

House

We live in an apartment with easy transport options and accessibility. We are between Uppsala centrum (30 min walk) and the Gränby mall (Gränbystaden) (15-20 min walk through a park). There are cycle paths or busses to get you where you want to go. However, there is no elevator so requires walking up two floors of stairs.

We have some bikes that can be used. We have an electric keyboard. We have lots of books in English/swedish and some hiking/local information in Swedish. We do have some sports supplies (balls, rackets, etc).

Tourism and Leisure

If you like history, there are many things in Uppsala as it has been populated and has had a university for a long time. There are rock carvings you can visit about 30 minutes from here, there are lots of runestones to try and find and other archaeological points of interest, as well as Gamla Uppsala. Stockholm is a 30 minute train ride away from the city center. There is a small theme park 30-60 minutes north of Uppsala, and the is a coast that is about an hour away. It is a rocky coast, but it is beautiful and fun to explore. There are a few movie theaters in Uppsala that are very comfortable. Various arts and theater events happen here and in Stockholm. There are lots of hikes and nature, including Linneus's house, gardens and several hikes. There are some nature preserves and castles around (e.g. Viks slott and the free art museum in the castle in town) Also, there are several museums in Uppsala, many connected to the university which was founded in 1477. I think the best starting place to understand the offerings in Uppsala is here: …

We do have bikes available, though we do not have any child seats nor any bikes for children around 12. (I can tell you the specific sizes if this is important.) We are right off two bus lines (1 and 3). We are also walking distance from groceries, a park and some restaurants. We love how easy it is to get around the city via bikes and bus. It is also possible to park a car here but this does have a daily rate.
Note: if you look at the previous house sitters, they were mostly for our house before we moved, so anything specific about location or house aren't the same, but we do have the same two cats.

Très bon séjour en compagnie des 2 matous qui aiment bien jouer à cache cache. Appartement très agréable et fonctionnel. Super accueil de Jennifer et sa famille. Merci encore, et à une prochaine fois sans doute.

Jennifer and her family are very friendly and caring, responding quickly to messages and being very flexible with the petsitter's requests. Speedy and Sweetie are two really easy-going, calm and very kind cats, each with their own personality. I would happily come back if the opportunity arose and I thank them very much for their welcome!

Jennifer and Jason were great hosts. There was excellent communication between us regarding their 2 cats, their home and gardens. They provided us with information about many cultural and recreational activities in the area including maps and suggestions for restaurants. They kept in touch with us while they were away to make sure that we had not encountered any problems. The cats, Speedy and Sweety were very easy to care for. We enjoyed our stay in their beautiful home.
