2 Dogs | 1 Cat

We have two mixed breed dogs. Nala who will play ball all day given the chance and Iris who is generally very chilled out. After a 45 minute walk in the morning they can be left in the large front garden. The day is then pretty much your own if you want to go out and explore. Another walk in the evening is appreciated. Our cat (a stray we rescued) appears periodically and doesn’t usually require much attention. Just fresh water and biscuits each day outside.

House

Restored 100 year old terraced property in a small group of houses approximately 3km from our local town which has all amenities. There is a private front and back garden with fruit trees and an internal patio. Generally very quiet. Easy dog walking routes straight from the house and for those who want a longer walk you can head into the surrounding hills.
There are bus routes from the town going to Cartagena or Murcia city.

Tourism and Leisure

If you have, or hire a car, you can visit lovely local beaches at Mazarrón, La Manga and Cartagena (all between 20-30mins).
There are buses from our town to Cartagena and Murcia city.
Cartagena, a naval city, has a stunning harbour, with beautiful buildings leading to a large shopping district with a maze of small streets. There is a tourist bus providing an insight into the history of the city and an amazing excavated Roman amphitheater with intimate museum... a must see! The evenings are great to wander through the narrow meandering streets browsing some interesting shops and absorbing the atmosphere.
Murcia city is bigger and is situated inland. There is a beautiful cathedral and a large plaza nearby to grab a coffee and watch the world go by. Depending on the time of year there are often a variety of fiestas and parades in nearby towns.

Super séjour chez Rachel, une de nos meilleures expériences Nomador si ce n’est la meilleure : 2 chiennes exceptionnelles, d’une sensibilité et d’une gentillesse remarquables (Iris est un amour, Nala fofolle mais affectueuse), elles obéissent très bien et le rappel (avec ou sans sifflet) est excellent, surtout lorsqu’elles partent chasser les lapins dans la pampa, la maison est grande, fonctionnelle et très bien organisée et la région (très rurale) un hâvre de paix. La ville de Fuente Alamo, où l’on trouve tous les services, est à portée de vélo. Excellente communication et confiance réciproque avec Rachel, véritable amoureuse des chiens. Séjour 5*

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour de dix jours chez Rachel et sa fille Maya à Fuente Álamo, dans la région de Murcie. La maison est très agréable et idéalement située pour découvrir la région. Rachel nous a très bien accueillis et, malgré la barrière de la langue, nous nous sommes tout de suite sentis à l’aise. Les chiens Iris et Nala sont adorables. Nous sommes venus avec notre fille de 5 ans, qui a beaucoup aimé passer du temps avec eux et les promener. Nous repartons avec de très bons souvenirs et une belle expérience. Nous recommandons Rachel et sa fille Maya pour un séjour. Tout s’est déroulé simplement, avec beaucoup de gentillesse et de confiance. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir si l'occasion se présente à nouveau. Un grand merci à elles pour leur accueil !

We had a wonderful stay in Spain from November 26 to December 10 and couldn’t have asked for a better housesitting experience. The dogs are incredibly loving, affectionate, and very easy to care for — they really enjoy attention and company, which made our time with them especially rewarding. The area itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning landscapes and many lovely places to explore nearby. If you have access to a car or a bike, we highly recommend it, as it makes it easy to discover lots of great spots in the surroundings. Even in winter, the weather was surprisingly pleasant and perfect for outdoor activities. The house is spacious, modern, and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need, and we were even generously provided with groceries in advance, all paid for by Rachel. Shopping in the area is easy and affordable. The location is quiet, private, and peaceful — perfect for relaxing, enjoying long walks, and spending calm days at home. Rachel is an incredibly kind and helpful host, always quick to respond and happy to help with anything. The neighbors are friendly and supportive as well, and the detailed house guide she shared answered almost every possible question. We felt completely at ease and would highly recommend this sit to anyone. If you don’t have a car, the local bus connections are reliable and very affordable, which makes getting around easy as well.
