Needs and animals

Animals with specific needs | Many plants | Vegetable patch | 2 Dogs | 4 Cats

I have a 2 year old Collie cross and a very gentle 5 year old Irish Staffordshire bull terrier.
they need walking every day.
They are generally well behaved but do much better with people experienced with dogs.
I will not consider people who do not have any previous experience.
Plus we have 4 cats, the boys mostly sleep outside, the ladies often inside.
The garden and plants also needs watering in the warmer months.
Important to note I do not live in a conventional home.
I live in a giant converted coach.
there are hot showers and toilets in seperate units,
a small kitchen area in the bus
and two fully equiped garden kitchens,
As well as smaller accomodation units wher i occasionally offer glamping stays.
so In spring / summer there are also glamping units available for you to stay in if you prefer.
In colder times only one is suitable and you would be more comfortable in the bus.
It is dificult to give an impression of the bus or the entire place from pictures but i have vidios i can send you if you are interested as i cant seem …

We are totally immersed in nature and feel totally remote but are in fact only 20 mins walk from the local town which has everything you need, plenty of shops and bars with free tapas and various bus and rail connections to the local city of Leon.
I run occasional wellbeing retreats and activities here in the summer but am focusing on re building my online work atm
Not a lot is normal here so you would need to come a couple of days before to get to know how things work.

As well as cuddling / feeding / playing with / walking the dogs and cats, (yes the cats often come on walks with us!) In summer the garden needs watering .

After a disasterous dog sit expereince (I dont think they walked or cared for the dogs at all) the dogs have occasionally taken to taking themselves off for walks in the woods.
I am working hard to try to un train this behaviour and making better fences to prevent their escape but for now it means you need to be more vigilant when they are outside to avoid this becoming a habit.

Additional information about these dates

I am generally looking for sitters over the next few months. Atm I am very flexible with dates and open to considering anything in June and September as well as shorter stays in the summer. I cant list for 1-5th June ( long story) but may need someone then. other dates I am definitly looking for are 2 weeks in Sept, can be a bit flexible on dates but must include 11th - 14th . and around Christmas time. I am also open to discussing short stays in July / August but will probably not go too far / or for long then.

House

Not your average house sit..... It doesn't fit into any of the usual categories on here, so I cant tick the boxes, but its a stunning place to stay., I had to tick house as i wasnt allowed to not selcet anything but in reality I live in a converted bus, with a fascinating history. You are welcome to stay here or in one of the other accomodations ( which one depends on the time of year) I used to run glamping and wellbeing retreats and still do online classes from the stunning off grid mountain location where you would be staying. good points: 💜total nature immersion. 💚Wild swimming spots close by, (i only go in summer but you might be braver than me!) 💜Remote feel but close to town with all facilities 💚 We dont have a pool but there's an open air pool 10 mins walk away (summer only) 💜 I have a pass for a small heated pool about 10mins drive away 💚 Rustic, sustainable living in a stunning mountain setting. 💜 Accessible by Public transport 💚 Forest bathing 💜 Yoga space 💚 Off grid living / mountain life / glamping experience/ Unique opportunity …

Life is very different here but if you love nature and the outdoors and enjoy something different with you may just love it as much as I do.

Winter is totally a different experience to summer here so it very much depends on when you come as to what I can tell you.
We should have a chat if you are interested to know more.
Here is a link to my old website you can check it out for more pics and info..... its being totally revamped atm so may not be optimum but still gives an idea of the place.

www.wellnessandwilderness.com.

I will put more pics of the animals and inside the bus when i have a chance, I can send a video of the bus if we re discussing a stay, and on the website there are some photos of the wagon and tent accomodation options .

The local town and surrounding area feel very different to city life, but also have a lot of history and culture.

For wildlife lovers it is an amazing place, there are wolves, bears, eagles wild boar and much more in the less
inhabited areas.
the area is a dream for Amazing hikes, waterfalls and lots of wild swimming spots in the warmer months,
We are in a world-class climbing spot surrounded by great routes,

Although you can get here by public transport (there good connections from Leon and Bilboa)
A car is an advantage to be able to fully explore the area.
Sometimes i can leave my small old Clio, sometimes i have to take it with me when iI go

Thank you for another great stay. This time I had the chance to experience the place for almost four weeks during spring. Perfectly sunny and not too hot yet. A little gardening was to do during this time of year, but not much at all. Fay gave me lots of tips for places to explore. There are some real gems in the mountains and beyond. Stunning views and nature. I was often alone with the dogs when hiking. Tourism was still quiet. I felt blessed to have it all to myself. Although there are villages and people nearby always. I saw lots of animals which I enjoyed tremendously. Highly recommend!

Another great week in the Spanish mountains. Fay Victoria is very hospitable and cooked up one of her nutritious soups. I was lucky to try her locally foraged fresh nettle soup. I stayed in different accommodation on the property this time. It was equally cosy and heated for comfort. The nights can be cold once the sun is gone even in spring, bring layers. I especially enjoyed long hikes in the forest with the dogs Lucky and Nelly. They are the cutest and were very playful. We even had sheep guarding dogs visit for cuddles and playtime. What a special experience. Highly recommended. See you soon Fay!

I loved my pet-sitting experience with Victoria . The location is absolutely gorgeous. You are surrounded by beautiful nature and excellent views. Boñar is a friendly village that has all the basics. It is really just a short walk away, which made things easy. I also had Victorias car available and there is Boñar train station to explore further away. I was already familiar with off-grid living. But Victoria is a wonderful host who explained everything and made sure I am comfortable throughout my stay, even remotely. The animals were happy, super sweet and affectionate. I took care of four cats and two dogs. The cats are quite independent and kept mice away which was perfect. And the dogs Lucky and Nelson are real characters that are easy to fall in love with. But both very sweet and a real help staying safe when exploring out in the wilderness. I stayed solo for one month into November and the weather was still quite mild. I even had enough WiFi out there to get some work done. If you love nature I can wholeheartedly recommend this stay. Thank you! I already miss the animals.
