Needs and animals

I have a German Shepherd, a smaller mixed breed and a little dog. They are fed twice a day. There are lots of places for walks and a big garden to run around in.
The hens need feeding every day and the henhouse needs cleaning once a week. They put themselves to bed when the sun goes down. They will provide fresh eggs daily.
Elfie the cat eats twice a day.

7km from medieval city of Tomar and the Convento do Cristo World Heritage site.

I have 2 bikes available to use.
We are 20 minutes drive from Barragem Castelo do Bode where there are beaches and water sports.
The house is under 7km from the beautiful and historic city of Tomar, home of the Templar Knights.

Life is peaceful in Charneca do Maxial. There are pleasant walks in the woods.
I have an 8x5m swimming pool and a 3000sqm garden
I can offer use of my car if you have a full licence.

We are 20 minutes drive from the amazing Castelo do Bode reservoir with beaches and water sports facilities
The World Heritage Convento do Cristo is a must-see. Explore the fascinating history of the Templar Knights.
There are many old castles and towns in the area.
My home is close to the motorway so it is easy to access other cities.

On our gap year travels after graduating highschool it was a breath of fresh air to meet Mindi and her wacky and quirky dogs, a lovely lady with an amazing sense of humor, made us feel like friends apon meeting her, and insisted on helping us even if she wasn’t in the country. her dogs have such big personalities and love to to run around in the forrest, we watched them come out of their shells and soon we were running around with them. the cats love to cuddle too, big fluffy cuddle bugs who would nest in our bed keeping it warm for us at bedtime. we can say nothing but great things, such a lovely place to explore and adventure like in a watercolour story book, pictures straight out of childhood wonder, bright, colourful, and amazing. 10/10. mindi, her dogs, chickens, and cats, are such lovely individuals!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Mindi's place in a small village near the beautiful Tomar. Shadow, Diogo and Pip were very affectionate and well-behaved. They have a great routine for their daily off-lead walk through the nearby fields. Elfie and Leila would rest for most of the day and come calling when hungry. The chickens were easy to care for and generous in providing eggs daily, and the garden provided a bouquet of herbs to try. Mindi was very helpful with offering suggestions to enjoy the local area and she was a great communicator. We would recommend.

Mindi was a wonderful host, kind, and a down-to-earth person. Her home was a typical Portuguese home with a large garden and fruit trees. Situated just out from Tomar, it was central to several local attractions. Her three dogs were easy to care for and they owned the couch. I had fresh eggs every day from the free-ranging chooks who enjoyed their daily bread in the mornings. The two cats kept to themselves and slept most of the time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend any future house sitters to look after Mindi's fur family.
