We adopted Sesam and Chia as adults, so they are initially cautious around new people. Usually, after a day or so, they start feeling more comfortable and begin to explore.

Sesam (our tabby cat) needs half a pill every morning. It’s a very simple task: you can easily give it to her on a spoon with a bit of the wet food she loves.

Our main priority is that they are fed daily, have a clean litter box, and fresh water. Most importantly, we want them to feel that someone is home. Interacting with them using treats or toys is ideal, as I mentioned, they just need a little time to trust someone new 😊

Additional information about these dates

We will be away from June 20th and will return on the evening of June 30th. We would love to spend a day together beforehand to show you around the apartment and explain everything. If you’d like to arrive 1 or 2 days early, that works perfectly for us, and if you need to stay a bit longer afterward, we don't mind at all

Our apartment is very centrally located, and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. We are just a 10-minute walk from the train station (and only a 4-minute walk to the nearest S-Bahn stop).
The apartment is 70 square meters and features one bedroom, a bathroom, and two small balconies. It has a spacious kitchen and a very cozy, comfortable living room. If you stay with us, you are welcome to use our bedroom, which has a very comfortable king-size bed (1.80m x 2.00m). In the living room, we have a modular sofa that converts into a large bed.
We also have bicycles available if you need one, and it is usually quite easy to find free parking in the neighborhood.

Tourism and Leisure

There is plenty to do in the city: from exploring the stunning Karlsruhe Palace and its gardens to visiting the ZKM (Center for Art and Media). The Botanical Garden and Market Square are also just a short walk away.
Karlsruhe is also the perfect base for exploring further afield. It provides easy access to beautiful lakes and hiking trails, and you can take effortless day trips by train to Strasbourg (France), Heidelberg, Baden-Baden, Freiburg, or Stuttgart.

It was an absolute pleasure to spend two weeks caring for Chia and Sesam. We were greeted warmly by Isaura and Silvan on our arrival and had a great evening with them around a nice meal, hearing about their interesting international adventures. They gave us lots of useful local information and recommendations to make the most of our time in Bühl which we thoroughly enjoyed. Their apartment is spacious and very comfortable, and we had the opportunity to meet and spend some time with Silvan’s parents which was an added bonus. Chia and Sesam were delightful, a little shy at the beginning but soon got used to us and we got to discover their sweet personalities. We highly recommend this charming couple and their easy to look after cats and the Black Forest region and would like to take this opportunity to say a very big thank you to our hosts!
