Charming Row House with Lovable Golden Doodle in a Peaceful Dutch Neighborhood

We’re looking for a responsible and caring house sitter to look after our home and our sweet male Golden Doodle, Sunny. He’s friendly, playful, and loves company — a great companion if you enjoy a calm environment with a bit of dog energy mixed in.

Our home is a comfortable 3-story row house (140 m²) with 5 bedrooms, located in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We have a lovely back courtyard with a trampoline and a cozy outdoor dining area — perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee or a book.

About Sunny’s care:
• He enjoys two walks a day, usually around the neighborhood and pond
• He can also use the back garden for potty breaks, as long as it’s cleaned up afterward.
• We feed him two times a day when we eat breakfast and dinner (7-9 AM; 6-7 PM), about one cup per meal- measuring cup is in dry dog food bag in the pantry
• A weekly brushing would be great to keep his coat healthy

Sunny is not allowed in other parts of the house than the living room and backyard except like when going on walks and stuff. We keep the living room door closed to keep him from going upstairs. He can sleep in the crate, especially to keep him from barking outside in the wee hours of the night, which is a possibility, but we’re kind of flexible on also just letting him sleep in the living room on the couch. Although if I give him a bone or food other than his normal dry food, I don’t lock his crate to prevent him from pooping inside his crate
• No additional care is needed — just love, feeding, and a few walks!

There are a handful of plants to water inside and outside. The inside plants just once a week. But the outside plants will require watering every other day in the heat of the summer if there is no rainfall. The outdoor flowering wall plants like moist soil. The roses don’t need as much and go a little longer, but they can just be watered along with everything else in the back courtyard.

The supermarket , bakery, shopping center, and public transportation are all within a 5-minute walk. A train station with direct connections to Rotterdam Central and beyond is just a 20-minute walk away.

We’re looking for someone who will treat our home with care and enjoy the convenient, peaceful surroundings — and of course, spend some quality time with our cheerful dog Sunny.

Due to the psychological stress of Sunny’s master leaving, he is likely to fall out of his normal habits. This may result in urinating or pooping where he normally wouldn’t, like inside his crate or in our home. He also might not eat much and could be a bit depressed for the first few days. His on-leash walking might not be as good. He also might bark more. The care giver is expected to clean up after Sunny as soon as possible using proper cleaning agents available in the home. He will need to be guided with firm, loving care to know that he has a new master and can bond to him or her.

We will miss Sunny dearly. So, we would like video updates of how Sunny is doing on a regular basis, once a day or two. We prefer that other people are not in these videos.
