Needs and animals

1 Cat

He likes to catch cockroaches, birds, and mice so be ready to deal with that (he hasn't killed any birds or mice, I always helped them escape, but he gets the roaches often during summer)
He's a sweet cat but he can play aggressively because he grew up without other kittens
He's never bitten or scratched another person but me
Belly rubs are not his favorite (98% of the time) but feel free to try it yourself (head and chin are the sweet spots)
He spends most of the day outside in the garden or surrounding areas
He wakes up early
He's very vocal because he learned it gets him attention so he'll beg for food at every opportunity
He enjoys scratching carton boxes

I always close all doors and windows at night to keep him inside and on his routine.

If he's outside and you have to leave the house, call him back in and lock the door.

Additional information about these dates

The dates are not yet fixed for our trip to Belgium. We can return either between Christmas and New Year's or anytime after. The exact dates will be specified later.

House

It's a very peaceful and quiet village. The house still requires some further renovations and updates, but it offers high-speed internet, fully set up office space for you to work, 1 bedroom, and an extra guest bed, fireplace to heat up the house in winter, fully equipped kitchen, and large land if you like to get your hands dirty (but you don't have to).

There is parking and garage as well + outdoor terrace with ocean view.

You will have everything you need.

For shopping, you can go to small markets in Lomba da Maia or Maia, or drive to Ribeira Grande to do bigger shopping.

Tourism and Leisure

There's a hidden waterfall just a 10-15 minutes walking, beautiful ocean views, and lots of cows. Nearby villages also have amazing hikes with waterfalls, and the Gorreana tea factory is only a 10-minute drive.

Hot springs are available in Furnas (15 min. drive) or Ribeira Grande (20 min. drive).

I recommend renting a car; otherwise, there aren't many options to get around freely. Car rental in winter is extremely cheap!
