Needs and animals

2 Dogs | 11 Horses

I have two dogs, and they spend many hours on the farm as well. When I travel I mostly take them with me. Then there are the 11 donkeys. They are lovely animals, sometimes, stubborn of course, and all different characters. Some donkeys need special food (because they are elderly). It's important to keep the place tidy.
There is a back office available for questions and any problems you could encounter. You're not completely left alone, but the more independent you are the better.
Take your time to enjoy Maastricht, it's University and the students! ,Maybe you can enroll a part time study!

The donkey care is about 3 hours work daily for one person (for two it's less). One donkey get's special food.

Update October 2026 My house is a regular family house in a village on the country side, and the donkey farm is about 7 kms away at the border of the beautiful city of Maastricht. Only 10 kms from the center. The donkey farm is a lovely place, my 11 donkeys like human company and I hope you like them too. My house is a comfortable place to stay, it has two bedrooms, and a garden with terrace. It is possible that my two dogs will be there (if I cannot take them on my travel). They need two walks a day, or you take them to the donkey farm where they enjoy being very much. There is a bus stop almost in front of the house and a stop at the donkey farm. Very easy. But I recommend a car. This is the perfect place for somebody who loves animals and nature. But also people who like to enjoy city life are not far from the excitement. The South of Limburg is densed with nice restaurants, cosy bars, but also the forest is at walking distance from the farm. You can walk hours without meeting other people. Are you people minded …

Maastricht is between Liege and Aachen, and is the middle of three countries. Dutch, french, english and german are widely spoken. Maastricht is very international. It has a beautiful cosy city center with an important museum (Bonnefanten, 15 min per bike), University (15 min per bike), and an internationally renowed market on the Marketplace every Wednesday and Friday . On Friday fresh fish!
