Meet Mimi 🐈

About Mimi

Mimi is a rescue cat who has gradually found her way into our family. She is a very independent, free-spirited little soul, with a wonderfully affectionate and gentle nature.

It took her around nine months to feel comfortable enough to let us touch her. But once she discovered the pleasure of cuddles, she couldn’t get enough of them! She is still a little shy and subtle in the way she approaches people, and she doesn’t like being picked up or held in arms. She prefers to decide when and how she wants affection, so it’s important to respect her boundaries and follow her own rhythm.

But underneath that initial reserve is an incredibly loving, warm and gentle cat. When she feels comfortable, especially when she has someone to herself, she can be wonderfully cuddly and affectionate. She particularly enjoys little morning cuddles when you wake up.

Mimi is very easy to care for and quite independent, but she is used to having human company around the house. She enjoys knowing someone is there, sharing the space with her and giving her a little attention throughout the day.

Mimi’s needs and daily routine

Mimi is an outdoor cat and usually goes outside to do her business. We do have a litter tray just in case, but she hasn’t used it once in the year and a half she has been with us, so there’s no litter cleaning involved!

Her daily routine is very simple:

* Food: She has dry food (kibble) and wet food, given two to three times a day.
* Treats: She loves little treats throughout the day.
* Affection: A few gentle cuddles in the morning are a lovely way to start the day. She also enjoys affection whenever she comes looking for it.
* Outdoor access: She is used to going outside freely and coming back home as she pleases.
* Sleeping: She generally sleeps in her little bed in the living room or office rather than in our bedroom or on the bed.

Above all, Mimi needs a calm, kind presence, a little companionship and someone who understands that affection with her is all about trust and letting her take the lead.

Our Home – A Little Piece of Paradise by the Sea 🌊

Our home enjoys an exceptional beachfront location, with breathtaking panoramic views over the Mediterranean Sea and the coastline.

Step out through the garden gate and you’re directly on the beach. The sea is quite literally at your doorstep!

The house is bright, spacious and welcoming, with large windows that bring in plenty of natural light and make the most of the beautiful sea views. There is a large garden and several terraces where you can enjoy breakfast, relax in the sunshine, read a book or simply take in the ever-changing colours of the sea.

The outdoor spaces are a real highlight of the property, and honestly, the house is even more beautiful in real life than in the photos!

Inside, the house is comfortable throughout the year, with underfloor heating, which makes a particularly lovely difference during the cooler Spanish winter months.

It’s a wonderful place to slow down, enjoy nature and live at the rhythm of the sea, while still being close to Dénia and everything the area has to offer.

A truly special home for anyone who loves the sea, open spaces and the simple pleasure of being right by the beach.

The Area & Surroundings – Les Marines, Dénia

Our home is located in Les Marines, one of Dénia’s lovely beachfront areas, on the northern side of town. It’s a wonderful location for anyone who loves the sea, nature and outdoor living.

Les Marines is known for its long stretches of beautiful sandy beaches, with shallow Mediterranean waters, open horizons and plenty of space to enjoy long walks along the shore. You can walk for kilometres right from your doorstep!

Dénia’s charming town centre is just a short drive or bike ride away (around 5–10 minutes, depending on traffic and your exact destination). It’s a lively yet authentic Mediterranean town, with a beautiful old quarter, a historic castle overlooking the town, a picturesque fishing harbour, a traditional covered market, lovely little streets, independent shops and a fantastic choice of restaurants and tapas bars.

Dénia is particularly famous for its gastronomy, especially its fresh seafood, traditional rice dishes and Mediterranean cuisine. There is always somewhere lovely to discover.

The surrounding area is also wonderful to explore. The Montgó Natural Park offers beautiful hiking trails and spectacular views over the coastline. Nearby Jávea, with its picturesque coves and charming old town, is also well worth a visit. There are many lovely villages, coastal paths and natural spots throughout the Marina Alta region.

Valencia and Alicante are both accessible for day trips, making Dénia a great base for discovering this beautiful part of the Costa Blanca.

It’s a place where you can enjoy a peaceful beachfront lifestyle while still having a charming Spanish town, nature, restaurants and plenty of things to explore close by.
