Barney is a 14-year-old lab/spaniel cross. He is well trained and obedient although he is getting very deaf now so he doesn’t always hear commands! He has breakfast about 8 am with his medication added. Then a morning walk of between 20 and 45 minutes depending how stiff he is that day. Then he usually sleeps for the day. I let him out at lunchtime but he can last till about 5 pm if need be. He has his supper with his meds between 5 and 6 pm and then a 15 minute walk about 6.30 p.m. Then he has his dentastick. Then he will snooze until bedtime, about 10 pm. He sleeps downstairs in the kitchen. I’d rather he wasn’t on the furniture. I will leave a sheet of written instructions for you. He is a gentle boy who loves company. He’s not that interested in other dogs.

Edwardian mid terrace house with a south facing garden. There is a downstairs kitchen diner with French windows onto the garden where there is a patio with garden furniture and a lawn. There is a gate at the end of the garden which leads straight onto a footpath and out to open fields.
The first floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom.

Tourism and Leisure

The house is on the High Street of Sparkford village, almost opposite the pub! It is within an hour of Bath, Glastonbury, Sherborne, the south coast in Dorset and the north coast in Somerset.
It is very close to the A303 which gives easy access to Devon and Cornwall.
There are some fantastic walks close by with Cadbury Hill Fort being five minutes away (a possible site of Arthur’s Camelot)
The public transport is pretty rubbish around here. I would really recommend you bring your own transport. Castle Cary train station is about 10 minutes away and can get you into London in about two hours.

Hannah et Simon nous ont accueillis très chaleureusement. Ils nous ont laissé des instructions parfaitement claires, pour la maison et Barney et ils sont restés disponibles pendant leur absence, répondant très rapidement à nos questions. Barney est un chien attachant, facile et obéissant, nous avons pris plaisir à nos petites balades. La maison est en prime très bien placée pour explorer cette jolie région du Sud de l'Angleterre qui nous a beaucoup plu avec ses jardins et ses châteaux. Je recommande !
