Needs and animals

1 Dog | 1 Farm animal

Nutmeg our affectionate 4 year old Irish Terrier likes to have at least two good walks (45 mins) a day (am & pm) and to be involved in your day and made a fuss of. Our chicken-ladies need the occasional egg collecting and corn/water top-up (have an automatic door, so no need to get up early in the mornings to let them out). We would appreciate the wild bird-feeders being topped up also.

House

Peaceful 400 year old detached 3-bed thatched Dorset cottage located within a chalk down-land valley miles away from any busy roads. Has a good sized South-facing garden with Poole Harbour and the outstanding Jurassic coastline 30 minutes drive away. Walks over hills and through woodlands from the door. The village pub is 3 minutes walk, but no shops - so you would need to drive 10 minutes to the nearest town (Blandford Forum) for food shopping etc.

The house is a bit like going back in-time - there is a mummified cat up in the loft to guard against witchcraft. Rural, quite and relaxing - great for walking and using as a base to explore all that Dorset has to offer, e.g. ancient hillforts, beautiful coastline, boating. Our neighbours are lovely and friendly and will respect your privacy though happy to chat if you are having a dog-walk. We will ensure there is off-road parking on the drive for at least x 1 car whilst we are away.
