We have two cats and 4 budgies that need looking after. Apart from that your job would be to keep the house clean and tidy, to water the plants from time to time, and just to be there and populate the house, and to enjoy your time there.

House

It is a very quiet old house in a very rural area. The house has 3 rooms, 2 bathrooms, and a big garden and barn - in winter you don't have to look after the latter two. Ideal for hiking. If there is snow you can do cross country skiing. Also a small ski lift nearby.

Rather basic - but everything is there.

It is very quiet and pieceful. You can use everything that is in the house. Shops are 5 km away. You can take the bus (15 minutes) or you may borrow the car (if you prove to have insurance), but only to go to the shops. No further excursions with the car allowed (sorry, but we made some bad experiences with past house sitters). Fast internet connection is available. No TV. There might snow during that time of the year - but no guarantee. If you are interested, please let us know and we will provide further information.

Staying at Heike's was a fantastic experience. She's a great host, having made me feel welcomed even before I arrived and attentive that I spend a good time in her place and enjoy the environs. Her house is cozy, beautiful and located in a calm and green (or white) area perfect for writing and relaxing and talking long strolls amid nature. Her cats, Sissi and Momo, are simply adorable. Discreet and well-behaved, they love to be around and cuddle - and I loved to be around them and cuddle. In short, I'd house-sit for Heike again without any hesitation!
