Needs and animals

Many plants | Big garden | 1 Dog | 1 Cat | 1 Farm animal

We have a Beagle dog, a Bengal cat and some chickens, who will need a reliable individual, couple or family to take care of them. The Beagle enjoys hikes up the mountain or leisurely walks into town to fetch your baguette each morning, the Bengal keeps to himself but will occasionally come around for some attention and the chickens are very easy with an electric door that lets them out and locks them in for bed each day.

We travel extensively and require piece of mind during our time away. The housesitter(s) must be a self-efficient, handy, and able manage any breakdowns or incidents that may occur around the house.

As an absolute minimum you would be someone who takes the initiative to fix small problems when they arise, respect our property and possessions, be low maintenance, contact us with updates twice a week or if there is an absolute emergency.

Please only get in touch if you have past house-sitting experience through Nomador.

House

We have recently moved from central London to an old farmhouse in the village of Servoz, in the Chamonix valley. The house is steeped in history - first constructed in 1787 in La Clusaz, then dismantled and transported in 1950 to its current location in Vieux Servoz where it now looks onto the Mont Blanc Massif. Life is very easy here with stunning nature to enjoy, incredible walks straight up the mountain from our woodland garden, three lovely pets to play with and all the comforts of modern living - wifi, sound systems, smart tv, netflix, etc. It is the perfect spot for mountain lovers or those looking to escape city life for a moment. With very few amenities in the village, and the nearest store being 1.4km from the house, it is advisable to bring a car to this house sit.

We have plenty of books to read and maps of local hiking trails. In the Winter time there is an open fire to enjoy.

It is a very calm mountain retreat yet 15 minutes to the bustling centre of Chamonix. Although public transport is available, to make the most of your stay it is advisable to have your own car.
