Needs and animals

Animals with specific needs | 1 Dog

We have a young male Whippet, Lewie, who will be 15 months old at the time of the requested house sit. He is loved by many people, extremely affectionate and will be grand if he gets his walks in.

Lewie sleeps down stairs in his bed. You will need to close the bedroom door to prevent him from creeping in during the night however!

He is walked from 12-1pm Mon-Thurs from my dog walkers who cover me while I am usually in the office. They have keys and come to the house to collect him and drop him off. I am going to keep this service going while I am away so it keeps his routine and all I ask is that you take him out in the morning for a jaunt or in the evening.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday no dog walkers will come so you will need to take him for 2 walks, or 1 big walk.

People are very friendly over here with dogs in pubs and Lewie likes to come with if it was appropriate. He is well behaved in pubs, on public transport and other human places. Equally, he can happily stay at home for up to …

People are very friendly over here with dogs in pubs and Lewie likes to come with if it was appropriate. He is well behaved in pubs, on public transport and other human places. Equally, he can happily stay at home for up to 4 hours at a time as long as he has been sufficiently walked beforehand.

He is fed 3 times a day, and if you're out while the walkers have him, you just need to leave the food out for him over lunch.
No health issues to date.

He is off lead trained with a whistle for his recall and I would like him to be off his lead as much as possible in the right environment! I.e. he must be on the lead when on footpath or near road but if you are in a field or the common he is absolutely fine to be off the lead.

Regarding looking after the house - there really isn't much to do other than putting the bins out and keeping things in order. I am house proud, so this wouldn't suit a house sitter that likes to live in their own mess. My main priority is to get someone in for the 3 weeks I am in Australia who can replace me for my Lewie. He is the most important thing to me.

House

Terraced cottage in gorgeous Chipping Sodbury. 2 large bedrooms (1 Super King bed and 1 King size), one main bathroom, living room and kitchen, with small communal courtyard garden at the back. It is a character-filled home, warm and comfortable and with great access to Bath, Bristol and London.

Walking distance (2 min !) to the high street - you could easily stay here and not feel the need to venture further. The high street has gorgeous shops, independent coffee houses and several pubs including a steakhouse, cocktail bar and tapas restaurant. Waitrose (grocer) is also a ten minute walk from the house.

Chipping Sodbury is a medieval market town edging the southern end of the Cotswold Escarpment - you can easily walk to the Cotswold Way and Monarch Way routes from the house. The countryside that surrounds us is breathtaking and the neighbouring villages are chocolate box cottages and lovely gastro pubs.

Kind neighbours live either side of us. On street parking for cars directly outside property. Never had an issue getting a spot on a first come first served basis.

We have netflix, prime and Virgin Media tv, all can be used while staying here.
