Needs and animals

1 Dog | 2 Cats

We have a ten year old Golden Retriever, called Leya. A very friendly friend of the family. She enjoys walks in the nature around our house and loves having company.
Also our two cats love her and often they cuddle with her. All animals are in good health although they all must be pretty old by now.
We need someone to take care of Leya and take her out for a stroll, 3-4 times a day while we are on vacation . Also the cats needs food and water.

Our home is tidy and neat and it is quite important for us that our housesitters keep it in the same condition.

House

We live in a comfortable wooden house which is about 160 square meters all in all. There is a fireplace on the first floor and a renovated bathroom on the second floor where the living room is situated with the open kitchen. The view from the second floor is great all day long. There is a closed veranda on the second floor with the possibillity to open all windows which is ideal for dinners and it has a great surrounding view over the fields to the next small village, 1.5 km away. On the backside of our house the forrest begins, perfect for long walks. We live on a quiet, dead-end gravel street and have one friendly neighbour. We have also two guest houses on the premises. There is a small town nearby (Hedemora) with a trainstation with a good connection to Stockholm Airport, 1,5 h, and Stockholm City, 1 hour 45 minutes. There are a lot of books in the house, mostly in dutch, swedish and some in english. There is also a sauna. The unlimited wifi connection is really good and you can easily stream a movie or use it for work. There is a robot vacuum cleaner on the …

We don't own a television. There are 27" screens in our offices which can be connected to the laptop for an easier workflow.

We live in the countryside but the city is only 7 minutes away by car and easy to reach by bike as well. The airport of Stockholm is less than two hours away by train or car. It is quiet here on this one-way street with only one friendly neighbour.
The bigger cities, Borlänge and Falun are approximately 45-60 minutes away by car.
The house is very comfortable with all equipment you need, except a television. The kitchen is the centre of the house and easy to use. We are used to only prepare vegetarian food and it would be a big plus, although not a dealbreaker if the housesitter we are looking for also is a vegetarian or vegan.

Tourism and Leisure

There are cultural places of interest but they are mostly at least an hour away by car, in or nearby the city of Falun or Borlänge. At our place you can enjoy the peace and quietness of the countryside. Sitting in the garden, following the sun from east to west all day while reading a good book with a cold drink.
There is a nice cafe in Hedemora, 6km from home where they serve good coffee and some delicious cakes. Also great for lunch. There are some golf courses nearby as well, and the use of our golfbags is possible.
There are some outdoor and indoor Padel courts in Hedemora if you like a racket sport as activity.

Anne Marie and Arjan gave us a warm welcome with a delicious dinner. We then spent a week in their beautiful house. It is really clean and tidy and totally cozy - as is the cottage next to the house where we slept during our stay. The dog Leya is lovely and outgoing. We took her for walks in the woods and around the neighborhood. The cats are also uncomplicated and sweet. We can highly recommend Anne Marie and Arjan as warm hosts. We would come back anytime!
