Zürich

We have 2 cats. The orange cat is named Kebab, age 9. The Siamese mix is named Sir Edmund, age 11.

Daily: Wet food in the morning and early evening, and dry food before bed.
Weekly: top up the water fountain and maintaining the Litter Robot (emptying and topping up).

We have a Litter Robot 3, which eliminates daily scooping. You have to replace the bag every 5-7 days. And top up sand every 3 days or so.
There is an app that will tell you when the robot is full, or if there is a glitch. We will monitor the app and let you know if there is a problem and how to solve it.

Kebab likes to cuddle and will try to sleep with you once he gets used to you. Sir Edmund is aloof but will come to you for pets when he trusts you, especially before he eats. He would like you to open the balcony door for him.

They usually play with each other, but also appreciate some play time with you. If you can spare a few minutes a day to play with them, they would be happy!

We would also appreciate some pictures every few days :)

We also have some plants that need watering. We aren't very knowledgeable plant owners, so we just water when we think they look thirsty.

Our dates are flexible as our robots can take care of the cat for a few days. Ideally we can meet you in person, maybe you could come a day before we leave?

70 sqm + 4sqm balcony, 2 bedroom apartment in Zurich city centre, 1 minute walk from a tram and bus stop (stop Bäckeranlage). The apartment is on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. We can comfortably sleep 4. As we are well connected, there is some street noise. There are plenty of hip restaurants, bars, and thrift stores to explore in the area.

10 minutes to Zurich main station by bus (15 by walk). 22 minutes to Zurich Airport by public transport.

Our furnishings and simple, comfortable, and contemporary. We have fast WiFi.

Our smaller bedroom is where we usually sleep, with a queen sized bed.

Our larger bedroom is the general use room: workstations, a guest bed, and some other storage. The guest bed is 2 single beds stacked on top of each other and can be converted into a queen (160cm) bed.
You can choose which room you would like to sleep in.

Our living/dining room has an extendable dining table. Our Litter Robot is also here, as well as the cat water fountain. We have a projector where we stream movies and shows onto our giant wall. We also have a lot of board games, cards, Jenga, and Mahjong.

Our kitchen has an 4-ring electric stove, oven, microwave, electric kettle, Instant Pots, & Air Fryer, and dishwasher. In addition to our kitchen appliances, you will find a cheese fondue set, a hotpot/grill combination set, and a smokeless BBQ. Let us know if you are interested in using any of these and we will make them available!

Our bathroom has a shower/bathtub combo. We have amazing water pressure!

We have a shared, grassy inner courtyard in the back of our apartment. There is a children's playground in there.

We don't smoke; if you smoke, please do it outside on the balcony with the door closed. Victoria (the human) and Sir Edmund (the cat) has allergies so we would greatly appreciate it!

The washing machine and dryer is in the basement and shared with the whole building. There is a sign-up sheet. There is no charge and we can give you our washing detergent.

We do not have parking but paid street parking is available.

Zurich is home to many museums like the Swiss National Museum and Kunsthaus, has viewpoints all over the city, and a beautiful clean lake to swim in or gaze at on a ferry trip. There is a lot to explore, including the Lindt House of Chocolate nearby.

In spring/summer, there are many outdoor bars and restaurants. The nearby Uetliberg is a small mountain with a train to the top, it's also an easy hike.

During winter there are many Christmas markets scattered around the old town and near the Opera House. Beer gardens turn into fondue gardens, with open fire pits and mulled wine. Ski slopes can be easily reached by train.

Nearby is the picturesque Luzern which is a 40 minute train ride. Switzerland has an amazing railway system, which means you also have easy access to the Rhine Falls, amazing ski slopes, and thermal baths!
