We have a very shy, timid indoor cat. You need to make sure he does not go outside his enclosed area by checking that doors are not left open. You need to give him lots of attention and brushing to win his trust.

We have 8 chickens and 5 growing chicks who need to be cared for. They free range in a small field during the day and are closed in at night and let out in the morning by automatic doors. They are also fed and watered twice a day.

The house has a lot of land which generally will not need any attention other than possible grass cutting using a ride on lawn mower. Some external plants will require occasional watering.

The village is located a few kilometres outside of Navarrenx, where you will find all the amenities of a small French town. To get there you need a car, so we request that applicants do have their own car or a rental vehicle. Our environment is totally non-smoking. It's a walker's paradise round here so bring your hiking shoes! We leave bicycles for guests to use, but be warned, it's hilly. We have lovely neighbours in the friendly village. Nearer to home you can enjoy exploring beautiful Basque villages and rolling countryside, as well as visiting historic towns of the Bearn such as Navarrenx, Sauveterre and Salies. All have weekly markets. Close to the house you have a network of inland rivers, along which you can walk or cycle and picnic.
