Needs and animals

1 Cat

Trio, our lovely tortoiseshell cat, needs looking after while we are away. She is very gentle and affectionate, and less than a year old. Because we live in an urban area with roads nearby, we just let her out during the day. The main thing is to give her strokes and feed her daily.

House

A terraced cottage near the old harbour. Compact and cosy, homely and lived in! Beautiful surroundings In two minutes you can be out drinking coffee on the beach watching the sunrise or sunset. It is in a beautiful area of Bangor near to the pier and also to the bus stop to get the bus into Snowdonia for the afternoon. It is in walking distance of the centre, shops and supermarkets, and also close to the beautiful park of Roman Camp.

We use bicycles to get around Bangor, as it's easy from this flat as you can cycle through the parks. We can provide two bicycles for a house-sitter's use.

It is a very comfortable place to make a temporary home in Bangor. The city is easy to get around, the houseis comfortable. The scenery of Snowdonia is half an hour away by bus and is stunning. It is lovely being so close to the sea and the views across to Anglesey and great Orme's head are fantastic. It has a holiday feel even when you live here!

Tourism and Leisure

Bangor is a university city right between Snowdonia and the sea. It is a small, safe city. It is quite quiet and has less traffic in Summer. It is a great place to be as you can be in the mountains, by the sea or the beautiful countryside of Anglesey by bus or train for the day. The castles of Caernarvon, Beaumaris and Conway are all a bus ride away. There are few areas on the island of Britain that have more for a tourist to visit in such a small area. There's a reason that people from the big cities of Liverpool and Manchester like to visit the area on bank holidays! Bangor is very walkable and it is a public transport hub. We didn't have a car for two years and we got around just fine! There is a petrol station shop for essentials 2 minutes away, a Marks and Spencers 15 minutes walk away, and just beyond that is the centre. Asda is a mile away and the train station is half an hour's walk. There are buses to Ogwen Lake, Nant Francon and Betwys y Coed, as well as buses east to Conwy and Llandudno from …

There are buses to Ogwen Lake, Nant Francon and Betwys y Coed, as well as buses east to Conwy and Llandudno from a bus stop 2 minutes away. There are buses going west from the central bus stop by Marks and Spencers. These can take you to Caernarfon and Portmeirion. There are also buses from there to Anglesey. If you have a car you can find on-street parking. I haven't had trouble parking, but I can never guarantee that I will be able to park in the same spot, and there is no parking place specifically for the house.
So this house is optimised for taking public transport and walking or cycling.

We had a wonderful time pet-sitting for Owain and his lovely family. Their home is cozy, very clean, and comfortable. Owain gave us many great suggestions for activities in the area, which we really appreciated. Trio is a sweet and independent cat—we enjoyed her company, especially watching birds together in the backyard during breakfast and dinner. We feel that we have found new friends, and we truly hope to meet again in the future.
