Bonjour pet sitters! We have 2 cats, brother and sister, named Tervel and Fiona. They will have their 4th birthday in November, and were rescued from the streets as very young kittens, so they are quite shy of new people to start with. They need their breakfasts and supper, and maybe the odd treat. They roam freely and may bring you a mouse or two as a gift!
We're going away from 25 September - 9 October and though our neighbours are great catsitters for short breaks Tervel and Fiona prefer a human presence in the house while we are away.
The plants in the courtyard and upper terrace appreciate a little watering but it's a very low maintenance garden otherwise.

Nous cherchons toujours quelqu'un pour rester à notre domicile à ces dates. Cependant, si toutes les dates ne sont pas possibles, une partie de ce temps serait formidable. Nous avons des voisins adorables qui s'occupent de Fiona et Tervel lors de courts séjours et qui peuvent prendre le relais si vous devez partir plus tôt ou arriver plus tard que prévu. Merci ! House

Our house was built in 1860, it's in a pretty French village overlooking a canal path. A few minutes walk from a general shop, bakery, and cafe/bar, a 12th century church and Roman remains.
Our TV-free house has excellent internet, several bicycles, a guitar, African djembe drum and hundreds of books in English, French and other languages. We also have a basic gym with weights, and a cinema room with a projector.
Notre maison, construite en 1860, se trouve dans un joli village, surplombant un canal. À quelques minutes à pied se trouvent une épicerie, une boulangerie, un café-bar, une église du XIIe siècle et des vestiges romains.

From the house it's a 20 mins bike ride along the canal path to Briare village, which has a train station to access Paris, a weekly open market, a dramatic canal bridge over the river Loire and several restaurants. Chateau de la Bussiere is the nearest interesting castle open to the public, 8km from here. Many other castles to visit via car. By the way the donkey in the pictures is a neighbour, and doesn't require looking after!! To get here from Paris it's a 1 1/2 hour drive, or 1 1/2 hrs on the train from Paris Bercy station to Briare. It’s a big surprise! It’s such a pleasure to meet Helen, Apo, and their lovely neighbours — they are so warm-hearted and generous! Taking care of Princess Fiona and Prince Tervel was very simple and easy. They are so independent! They perfectly managed their own routines — either going out hunting or resting upstairs. They do their business outside, so there was no need to clean the litter. I just needed to feed them twice a day, in the morning and evening, and change their water — that’s all! Helen kindly provided a bicycle for me, and there’s a cycle path along the canal — safe, quiet, and beautiful. I really enjoyed it! If you love art, you will absolutely love their house! It’s full of stunning paintings and creative artworks. To be honest, from the very first time I saw the house photos, I was attracted to them — and curious about Helen. I really wanted to meet her! From the moment we met, I felt as if we had been old friends for a long time. Helen and Apo were so considerate and thoughtful, they truly made me feel at home. Helen even introduced me to their neighbours to make sure that if I ever needed help, I would have someone to turn to. I love all of them! Ouzouer-sur-Trézée is a quiet and beautiful village with so many lovely places to explore around the area. Every time I went out for a walk or a bike ride, I discovered something wonderful. In the evenings, the sunsets were breathtaking. And every time I went into the garden, it was pure joy — not only for the beautiful flowers but also for the vegetables and fruits growing there. Anyone who comes to this place will fall in love with it! Thank you again, Helen, Apo, Fiona, and Tervel! Looking forward to seeing you again!
