We are looking for someone to watch out for our rescue dog Lucy. She comes and goes as she pleases, but does look for some companionship and cuddles daily. We like to keep her kibble bowl filled and give her wet food in the morning. Lucy is, to our best guess, some type of a collie cross. She is not aggressive with kids and has been very calm and welcoming with many dog visitors. Lucy spends her days wandering the village (she is well known) and sleeping in her corner of our garage).
We also have about a dozen chickens and two goats. They require feeding every morning, and they require their houses cleaned up about every two weeks. Egg collection is best done daily, although there isn't usually more than 3 eggs a day.

House

1960's build house with an independent apartment on ground floor, and our apartment on the top floor. You'll have the ground floor apartment for your stay. We have an outdoor kitchen and lounge area, and pool, both obviously weather permitting. The house has a lot of garden and green space around it, and we have many orange trees as well as many other fruit trees.

We are in a small village 7kms out of Tomar, and it's somewhat isolated. It's best for someone with a vehicle. We can leave a bicycle for your use, and there is a shared taxi service Monday to Friday, 9am into town, 12:30pm back from town. The house is very solidly built and secure, and has gates around the perimeter if you bring your own dog. Package delivery is easy, we receive packages here without any problem.

We are on the Caminho trail and we love to have coffee outside and say hi to the walkers. We also love to walk the many trails around us. We spend time in our garden or puttering around outside with various projects. The house is quiet and peaceful but we're also not afraid to blare KISS hits and have a dance party.

Un grand merci à Mary et John pour leur chaleureux accueil dans leur grande et belle propriété, Ce sont des gens formidables que nous avons adorés. Vous logez dans un grand appartement très propre au rdc qui vous rend autonome avec deux grandes chambres cuisine et salle de bains. Mary et John nous ont préparé un bon repas et présenté leurs amis Lucy est une adorable petite chienne très intelligente et très affectueuse, c est une chienne des rues qu' ils ont adopté elle connait tout le monde dans le village et tout le monde l'adore. Il y a quelques poules et une chèvre naine très joueuse , plein d oranges de mandarines et de citrons dans leur grand jardin si vous venez en janvier. Il y a de jolies promenades à faire autour de leur maison. La ville de Tomar est splendide et il y a beaucoup de sites et villes historiques à visiter dans cette partie du Portugal. leur voisin immédiat est une ancien moine Shaolin, qui a apporte le kung fu au Portugal, nous avons profité de son enseignement du tai-chi pendant un mois et fait aussi des rencontres dans le groupe. pour le repas du midi vous pouvez profiter du restaurant associatif du village et déguster les spécialités du Portugal dans une ambiance simple et conviviale. c,est à deux pas de la maison. Lucy vous accompagnera et restera assise devant la porte le temps du repas . Nous les attendons avec grand plaisir chez nous en France. encore un grand merci à tous les deux.
