Needs and animals

Vegetable patch | 1 Cat

We have a dog but he will be coming with us. We'd have loved to be able to take Kotchka (our cat) too but she doesn't like travelling.

The plants on the balcony / window-sill and allotment need to be water daily.

We'd like the allotment to be watered daily in the morning, no later than 9:30am) after that the the sun is usually too hot)
If it's not possible to water in the morning, anytime after 5pm would be great also.

We're vegetarians so would ask that you don't bring meat / fish or associated products in to the flat.

House

4 bedroom flat on the edge of Jean Verlhac Park. We'd like someone to look after our cat for 4 days. She's affectionate, loves to play and likes to sleep in our bed. If you don't like to sleep with a cat that is no problem but we'd like someone who is at least willing to give her a bit of attention and play with her. We also need the plants on our balcony and our 20m2 allotment (yes it's tiny!) watered while we're gone. The allotment is about 5 minutes walk from the flat. We'll depart early Wednesday 4th September so need someone to arrive at least the day before hand (Tuesday 3rd - Monday would be even better as we Tuesday is an extremely busy day for us) so that we canshow you around the flat and garden etc and answer any questions you may have. We'll probably be back on the evening of Sunday 8th September though we are thinking of extending the trip by a few days so let us know if that would be a possibility. Best way to get round Grenoble is by bike and we have several so you're welcome to use one while you're here. Grenoble is a very …

Grenoble is a very lively university town. It's not so big, so it's easy to get anywhere by tram/bus or bike, but it's large enough that you'll want for nothing. There are plenty of supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies, shops, etc, in walking distance. There are plenty of restaurants and bars, museums and theatres nearby. The centre of Grenoble is just a 20-minute tram ride away, as is the main train/bus station. .
Grenoble's surroundings are absolutely wonderful. Whether it's winter and you want to ski, sled or hike in the snow, or it's summer and you want to hike, mountain climb, or swim in a lake, you can quickly get to some very nice places in the mountains.
Of course it's easier if you have a car, but there are also plenty of public transportation options.
The Bastille is good place to visit, with a wonderful view of the whole city and its surrounding mountain ranges. You can walk up (about 1 or 2 hours, depending on how athletic you are!) or take the cable cars aka as the Bubbles which go over the Isere river.

Grenoble has beautiful surrounding mountains that are easily accessible by local bus. You can go hiking, mountain climbing, visit lakes and rivers. The Bastille has a wonderful view of the whole city and its surrounding mountain ranges.
There are some nice museums in town as well, and some very lovely parks to visit. f you visit in summer there are a plethora of free events, not just live music but also opera and ballet. There are a few good film theatres around. We recommend trying some local restaurants as the food is very good. There are some nice cafes and tea-houses as well.
