Needs and animals

We have a small 4 kg mongrel. He is adorable and easy to live with. He loves going out for walks of course but stays clean with a morning and late night walk (3 walks would be ideal however). He also needs to take some medication twice during the day.

Our place is a nice 100 sqm flat in a 1930 building in Nouvelle Ville, the German neighbourhood of Metz. There's everything you may need in the vicinity and the medieval part of the city is only 15 min walking distance from our place.

We have a library's worth of books in various languages, a fair number of LPs, fibre broadband, a printer, an air purifier, a ukulele, a proper bath, one good bike (and another one that could be repaired fairly quickly).

Metz is a pretty dynamic city with France's oldest continuously operating opera house, a very active Cité Musicale, lots of concerts, several museums, many bars and restaurants, etc. You can make it whatever you want, from a low-key getaway in a calm urban environment to a life of hustle-and-bustle.

Tourism and Leisure

The Lorraine region is underrated. Metz is a very beautiful city with one of the world's finest gothic cathedrals and a vast medieval city centre. Luxembourg is an hour away by train, Nancy as well. Germany is an hour away by car (great for shopping and to go discover Saarland). Rural Meuse is half and hour to the east. Great wines all over the place, from rosé (Côte de Toul), white (around Metz and beyond), and even red (here and there).
