Needs and animals

Animals with specific needs | Many plants | 1 Dog

Our dog is an eight year-old collie-spaniel cross. She is very friendly and loves people and company. She needs two walks a day and she has to be fed a very specific diet because of a health issue she has had, with no extra treats. She is used to this though so it's no problem for her! She is ok with other dogs but mostly prefers to keep to herself, a typical collie that way!

We would need the house to be kept secure and the plants watered once or twice a week.

Additional information about these dates

These dates are firm and non-negotiable as we have booked our holiday. We would need some time to meet our sitters before we leave and we would also need to be absolutely sure that any commitment to stay would be followed through on because it would be impossible to make any other arrangement for our dog to be minded at short notice. Thanks for your understanding.

House

Comfortable but not flashy semi-detached house in a lovely green suburb of Dublin. 5 minutes walk from a beautiful park, close to the sea, the mountains and the city. Also very close to public transport. Small but private garden with deck for sitting out on.

We have all the usual such as a music system for playing CD's, a TV and DVD player, a good internet and wi-fi service etc.

We live in a fairly built-up but peaceful neighbourhood with plenty of trees and green areas nearby. The house is warm and comfortable with plenty of space due to a converted garage and attic. All amenities are nearby and the neighbours are generally friendly but mostly keep to themselves. It is usually very quiet although there are young children in the houses on both sides. There is plenty to see and do in and around Dublin and we are close to County Wicklow which has plenty of lovely walks and places to visit.

Tourism and Leisure

We are about 45 minutes from the centre of Dublin by either road or rail. The sea is also a short distance away and there are many local walks, including one with stunning views of the sea and the countryside. The local park (5 mins walk away) is beautiful and great for walking the dog and there are plenty of interesting shops nearby including a retail park with many big-name stores. The countryside of Wicklow can be accessed easily by public transport.

Mark and Isobel were the most welcoming of home owners - a delightful couple! They went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable during our stay and allowed us to use their car, which made a great difference to our stay and places we could explore in magical Ireland. They kept in good communication, ensuring we had no problems and knew the many places we could visit. Muffin was a very friendly dog who was easy to look after and enjoyable to be with. We would highly recommend Mark and Isobel as home owners and the area they live in is full of interesting places to visit and local transport is good too.
