As a couple/duo
I am a single mother and a PhD student at the Australian National University. My son is 13 years old, we both love animals and gardening. We are currently traveling for a year in the Schengen area (we are around Barcelona now but will soon be in Prague, and then Berlin) while I write my thesis and he is homeschooling. We were recently living in Canberra, Australia but we are from the Pacific Northwest of the US - I am from the Seattle area and my son was born in Montana. We love the outdoors, animals, and have a green thumb. As international students, we don't have our own pets but would find great pleasure in looking after other people's.
I grew up in a rural area with horses, pigs, dogs, cats, and gerbils. I regularly cared for neighbours animal including chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, goats, horses, hamsters and other animals. We enjoy taking care of animals while traveling, it makes traveling more fun.
While I do not list French as a language spoken, je comprends et parle un peu les français. I also speak Melanesian pigin and can hear and speak a some Spanish - enough to improve on while I am in the language.

Gretchen was the perfect cat and housesitter. She is a very warm and friendly person. Hilde was very relaxed, when I came back. So I think she also liked Gretchen and Mathias. We had a good communication and the house was clean and everything fine. I am very glad, it was a good experience with Gretchen.

Gretchen and Matthias were wonderful guests and it made us very happy that they enjoyed the house and the chickens so much. Gretchen was very careful and attentive to all the instructions and details about the house and she regularly sent us updates and photos of our lovely chickens! We really recommend these two as pet/housesitters, they were kind and so easy to meet and communicate with. Wishing them well on their next adventures!
