As a couple/duo
We're a retired married couple in our late 50's. We have just retired and sold our lovely 3 houses in Vancouver Canada so we can travel the world, meet new people, and spend time in new places caring for beloved homes, farms, pets and animals. Andy is a wildlife biologist & animal behavior scientist who has owned many dogs, cats, and all other species of animals from pigeons to sheep, chickens and horses. Farah is an International Humanitarian who has worked in over 25 countries performing disaster relief with the UN, Red Cross, MSF and Save the Children. We live in Vancouver Canada. After travelling for work for over 20 years, we shifted our attention and lives to care for our elderly parents, whom sadly have now passed. With an adult child now moved out and living their good life, we have sold our 3 houses and have begun a life connecting to new communities. We are very pet savvy and very responsible. As home owners we understand the importance of caretaking. We will treat your home as if it were a castle. Our favorite outdoor activity is being in nature and parks, walking the trails. We love to run, jump, and play with dogs, whisper to cats, sing to birds and admire natures beauty. We also cherish spending lots of time indoors cuddling with pets.
We are calm, nerdy, geeky professionals. We love to stay at home and read books and listen to quiet music and watch films. When not at home we are either at local restaurants or walking the streets and back roads, appreciating art, culture, nature, and community. We love to cook exotic meals.
We both grew up in coastal California and have called Vancouver, Canada our home for over 30 years. We have just retired, sold our 3 homes, and are spending the next few years traveling the world seeking new experiences and meeting new people, pets & farm animals. We have had Andrew and Farah taking care of our property for six months. This is a very complex property, with donkeys, cats, a dog, chickens and pigeons; on top of it, a large garden as well as many potted plants around the house. This means constant attention and care from dedicated loving people and this is exactly what we found in Farah and Andy. This is a list of tasks the sitters at the house are in charge of: - feeding animals - arranging for vet visits - buying food and other materials for the animals and receiving the food deliveries (including trucks of hay for the donkeys) - watering the plants and the garden - keeping the house clean - staying in contact and keeping us informed of the operations at the house - keeping us updated by sending photos and videos For all of the above, we rate Farah and Andy with 10/10 - they were just perfect, loving carers for our animals, attentive and knowledgeable with the plants. It has been a great pleasure to have Farah and Andy look after our property!
