Maria and Felipe

Hi! we're a Chilean couple in our thirties currently living in Milan, Italy, where we both hold valid Italian residency permits. Felipe is a scientific researcher and I'm finishing my master's thesis. This August, we're looking to settle into a quieter place, take good care of a home, and spend quality time with pets.
Animals have always been at the center of our lives. Growing up in Chile surrounded by pets, we've carried that love into adulthood: between the two of us back home, we have three dogs and two cats. Felipe has a particular soft spot for cats — the more standoffish ones too — while my heart melts at every dog I meet. We're also comfortable caring for chickens and other small birds.
We're a calm, introverted pair. We tend to stay close to home — cooking, reading, going for slow walks — which means your pets won't be left alone for long. We know from our own experience how hard it can be to leave home and be apart from your animals. We take that seriously, and we'll make sure to keep you updated every day — photos, messages, whatever helps you feel at ease while you're away.
Felipe and I are both experienced with medication for pets and know how to handle animals with different temperaments. I also volunteered for an animal rescue NGO in Chile, which gave me a lot of experience with nervous or shy animals — I know how to earn their trust slowly and work within their comfort zone. We'd love to hear more about your home and animals.
We speak English, Spanish, and Italian fluently. We're also genuinely curious about languages — it's one of the things we love most about living abroad — and we always make an effort to pick up the local language wherever we go, even just the basics. We believe a little effort goes a long way with people.
