1 Dog | 1 Cat

The cat is just needs to be fed. Our dog is calm, likes human company but needs a lot of exercise in the surrounding countryside (and fed). He is a mixed race dog - his passport says half Kopo hunting dog, half Husky. Both animals are friendly and get along with each other.

We plan to be away the weekend of 24/25th of January and back by Sunday 8th of Feb but would like a day to handover. We have not booked the tickets yet but these are the dates we require. It will be ski season here of course.

House

Large old farmhouse in Haute Savoie, facing Mont Blanc, easy access to walking and cycling trails.

We have bikes (one electric) and a large collection of books that guests are welcome to read. The house has a wireless music system that runs off wifi. There is a piano in the bottom sitting room.

In winter, we depend on a tremendous heating stove that is our favourite thing in the house - there is plenty of wood to keep it running ...

We live 3km from Sallanches, up a hill in a Hamlet with friendly neighbours. Good travel connections in town, but will need to use a car or an electric bike to get around. Great walking and exploring in the mountains that surround the house, with skiing in nearby resorts in the winter and mountain biking in the summer.

Bien rentré de mon petit paradis alpin, je tiens à dire combien mon séjour fut des plus agréables, et ce pour de nombreuses raisons. Etuka et son épouse sont des personnes extrêmement charmantes, accueillantes et attentionnées. Je me suis senti immédiatement à l’aise chez eux, dans leur immense chalet dominant Sallanches, qui offre bien plus que le confort nécessaire, avec en prime une vue magnifique sur le Mont-Blanc. Quant à Dombhall, leur adorable chien, rien à dire sinon qu’il est d’une gentillesse absolue et ne demande qu’à se promener — ce que j’ai eu grand plaisir à faire chaque jour, tant les balades sont nombreuses et variées dans la région. Il doit bien sûr être tenu en laisse le long de la route, mais peut courir librement en pleine nature en toute sécurité. Quant à Minou, tout aussi attachant, mérite également une mention spéciale : il venait volontiers se blottir contre moi pour dormir dès que je m’installais dans un fauteuil… un vrai moment de douceur. Que demander de plus ? Des hôtes adorables, des animaux attachants, le tout dans un cadre naturel absolument superbe. Enfin, la région de Chamonix offre d’innombrables possibilités d’évasion et de découvertes. Petite précision utile : une voiture est indispensable pour profiter pleinement des environs. En conclusion, j’y retournerais très volontiers si l’occasion se présentait.

Un couple anglo français très sympathique et accueillant. Respectueux des dates et renseignements fournis. Un chat affectueux et discret un chien tres sportif docile affectueux et attachant ainsi qu’un chalet de montagne propre et spacieux (ancien gîte).

I've stayed over 10 days at Deidre and Etuka's beautiful chalet in the mountain. I've walked their dogs Domhall everyday in the beautiful hikes there are everywhere around the chalet, dog who is very gentle and friendly. The cat Sharkbait is super chill and will hug you from time to time, make his life the rest of the time. Deidre and Etuka have been super welcoming and made everything for me to feel good during the stay. I would recommend.
