I am looking for a solo traveler who really likes cats and is willing to give my buddy Murphy (9) the love and care he needs while I am traveling, and enjoy my very cozy apartment and Hamburg this Christmas! 🌞

Your responsibilities would be feeding Murphy 3 - 4 times a day, loving on him and playing with him and enjoying his company. Scooping the litter box daily, watering my plants if necessary.

Murphy is a very sweet cat, but a bit careful when it comes to contact with (new to him) humans.

He will find your hand to be petted and loves being played with, spoken to and getting his head scrathced, but won't sleep in bed with you. He'll be nearby, though, sharing space.

I am leaving Hamburg by Car, so there's a bit of flexibility with dates. Would love it if you can arrive a day early so I can introduce you to Murphy and show you everything! I have a comfortable guest bed in my office.

The appartment is nicely decorated and quiet, there's a small shower/bathroom, no bath tub, the kitchen is well equipped. The kitchen gets really nice afternoon light (at least in summer :)), the bedroom and living room are bright in the mornings.

It is super cozy and extremely livable, and located in a friendly, urban but not too trendy neighborhood East of the inner city lake, the Alster. My neighbors are relaxed, there are supermarkets and restaurants around, and bus and metro connections are plentiful.

Hamburg has a HUGE harbor that Hamburgers are really proud of.

There loads of bars/restaurant everywhere and especially right by the river Elbe where you can sit and watch big container boats go by. There's also a really lively art and museum scene, a progressive theater just down the street featuring international ensembles,

Depending on what your jive is, I can recommend restaurants, natural sights to visit in the outskirts, there's the North Sea, the Baltic Sea, Lübeck (world reknowned for its Marzipan) is a fairly short train ride away, places to ride a bike, nice hiking paths, loads of cultural happenings ...

I had a lovely stay at Imke's. Her cat Murphy is a little skittish, but after day 1 he was already much more comfortable with me. Imke has a warm personality. We didn't get to meet in person, but we had a video call together and she made me feel very welcome. Her flat is located in a quiet, residential area, not far away from the center of Hamburg. There is a grocery store very close to the flat, which is also convenient. Thank you for your trust Imke!

Imke is a wonderful person and great host. Before the first sit, we met for breakfast, and she made sure I had everything I needed, including detailed information and instructions. The apartment is centrally located, so you can visit Hamburg's sights while keeping the feeding schedule. Kasper is a "cool cat," and very generous with welcoming you as a sitter. And even though he's younger, Murphy is his big brother, and he let me team up with him in looking after Kasper. He's also very generous and loves to play with the fishing rod and sit by the open window. I've sat for Imke twice and will be back there in June. I'm very much looking forward to my next stay and can highly recommend Imke, Kasper, and Murphy.
