Hi, I'm Karin a German-American looking for friendly, nice people in different locations who will let me take good care of their pets and homes while they are away.

We own rental properties, and I also used to sublet my apartment in New York City, so I know both sides of the coin.

As a digital nomad, I like to combine working and living in different places. My work hours are flexible so I can accommodate your pet's needs. But the best part is that I really like animals and enjoy meeting and caring for them.

Since joining Nomador and another site in August 2023, I've had the pleasure of meeting and sitting for many repeat hosts and pets, and I always look forward to seeing my new furry friends again.

Several of my host have referred me to their relatives and neighbors. One host referred me to her parents, where I got to look after a lovely thirty year old Mare and stay in a historic landmark former custom house. References (written or phone) from all my hosts including from other sites are available on request.

Before joining Nomador, I had been pet and house sitting on referral for many years.

My experience:
Having lived in the U.S. and Germany, I have extensive experience in:

Pet sitting: I’ve cared for young and older (17 years old), dogs (large and small), cats (friendly and shy), chickens & roosters (best eggs I’ve ever eaten!), horses, rabbits, birds, fish and geckos. I'm also familiar with administering medications, feeding special diets and Vet visits.

House types: Apartments, penthouses, small farms and single-family homes, including a historic landmark former schoolhouse, former custom house, a converted barn and a wood burning indoor fireplace providing warm water and heat to the house.

Locations: U.S. - New York City, Washington D.C., Arizona, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey; Germany - Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover, Heidelberg, Baltic Sea resort, countryside near Saarbrücken, Stuttgart, Trier and Hamburg.

I appreciate animals and always bond with them, so yours will be loved and well cared for. I am honest, responsible, quiet, neat and clean and will do the 'usual house chores' such as watering plants, airing the apartment (the classic German lüften), monitoring your mailbox, accepting packages and anything else specific to your home. If you'd like I can also look over your Nomador posting from a native English speaker's point of view or translate your German advert.

Because I work remotely, I'm very flexible with dates and available for short and long term assignments when reliable, fast internet is provided.
